Thanks for the comparison. Does the old head fit on the new body? I’m kinda torn. Initially I thought the old head looked way closer to Benedict’s likeness, but in that specific photo Matrix took, the new one looks good too
My little ML haul from Emerald City Comic Con. Human Torch was only $5 more than the order I was supposed to pick up from Best Buy on Thursday so I cancelled that to support a small store instead. Super happy to have another Spider-Villain too!
Jeez, expand your selection of effects parts Hasbro. So annoying to see those same circles for EVERY possible ability or attack.
Never realized how much this figure looked like Jim Hammond Human Torch Now I can build an invaders set!
You know something guys when I looked at the Hydra Stomper armor it was reminding me of something that I see before and then it hit me like a ton of bricks it looks like Big Guy from both the comic of Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot and that old cartoon that it had as well.
Anyone else still waiting for their Excalibur 3-pack to ship? Got charged for it last Wednesday/Thursday. Typically Pulse's turn over is much quicker from payment to shipment.
He is out for delivery. The Obitsu stand I purchased is coming in Thursday. Edit - Ran downstairs after seeing the FedEx truck. Turns out it was express instead of ground
My Excalibur, Flame-off Johnny, and Zartan all charged last week, within a day or two of each other. I got a shipping notice for Johnny today. None of the others have moved. I'm not in a hurry or anything, just seems like they would have shipped them together, if only to save themselves the time/money of shipping them separately, but whatever. As long as they get here eventually, I don't really care.
Pulse shipped my Excalibur set and exclusive Torch. I guess they have a warehouse right near me in Chino now? So mine arrived like a day after shipping. The Excalibur set is a tiny bit of a letdown? Not bad to me, but I was hyped for it and it ends up less eventful than a Flame Off Torch. The new Brian is fine but really could've used an unmasked head with long blond, lush hair. The Abomination wave Brian has a weird chest that juts out kinda like Heroes Reborn Cap...but it kinda works well for a character I mostly remember being drawn as kinda misshapen, like pecs with body parts drawn around them. The new Brian is more conventionally muscular when this is one of the few who could use weird proportions. I may keep the previous Brian on my X-shelf after all. Meggan's smiling head is a bit startling, but I remember her as either weirdly happy or pouting, so it vibes with half of how I remember her. Her hair makes her back heavy, unsurprisingly. Hasbro continues to have issues sculpting ankles/feet for muscular people; Megs mostly avoids cankles but her feet appear swollen anyways. Her shapeshifting abilities being captured would've boosted this figure immediately, but that would've required not just an extra head and hands but feet, arms (for the tops of the shoulders) and an extra torso? So basically a whole other figure. I get why it wouldn't be done, but she's pretty boring otherwise. Kitty was who I was most excited for, since this the costume I most associate with her, and she's also...fine? Her elbows are really tight and do bend on mine but it feels like I'm going to rip them off. The Fwoosh video pointed out her hair is parted the wrong way and now I can't unsee it and want a new, correct head. At this point I feel we could use a new Lockheed; I'm not expecting a jointed one, but at least a flying version that can connect to a stand a la Headpool/HERBIE/Qubit? Like Megs, it'd be great if all the Kittys could pop apart at the forearms and waist, pegging into hypothetical floor/wall "effect" parts to reference her powers, but I get why it's not done. Also, as shown here with the other ShadowKittys, I get that she shouldn't be tall, but did she see an actual growth spurt in the comics closer to adulthood? She's a little too short now. As for Johnny, he's surprisingly interesting for me. He does come with normal hands but also has the same flaming hands from the other retro Torch, making for a mid-Flame On look. The smirk on his face fits the character. His flame backpack is also from the retro figure, but unlike that one, it actually stays snug on his back, despite still not having a peg! The area that wraps around the neck is more tightly curved out of the box, so it doesn't just fly off this time.
