I guess this teaches us that if Reed Richards just sits down and has a brew with Big "G once in a while, we wouldn't have as much issues.
Yeah, totally OOC but entertaining to read. The fact that they use his cosmic speech bubble makes it even better Well, it certainly has a much better reference (aside from the liquor drinking) than the Doom head, since we see Galactus without his helmet (granted, his head was bald) shortly after Thanos blasts him off his feet and shortly before Galactus 1-shots Thanos in his most humiliating defeat ever (aside from being arrested by the NYPD). Canon 616, Starlin-written Thanos.
It’s the last day for Galactus. Part of me really wants to order one, the other part of me doesn’t want to spend that much for a gigantic figure. My space is pretty small as is. I feel like I’ll definitely get some FOMO if I don’t, and I really want that Silver Surfer. Decisions decisions
If you can afford it, you should do it. You'll easily be able to sell Galactus alone and recoup your $400 and keep the heralds if you want.
An SD-style figure with a comically large Doom head? At least if they gave us a second usable Galactus head of some kind you could like fanfic a Unicron-like (or Nowhere like) severed Galactus head for a display. But a big miscolored Doom head?
The Occam’s Razor - Buy him with the intent to keep the Heralds and resell Galactus himself. If he’s made-to-order, you might still make a profit on the secondary market.
I agree with Effigy. If you can afford it without issue then go for it. That goes for anyone that's afraid of getting FOMO over Galactus or one of the Heralds. If you get it in hand and decide you really don't want it then based on the resell prices of Unicron I'd say you can easily recoup your cost of Galactus even if you choose to sell him alone and keep all the Heralds.
Or, like me, who has more of a Secret Wars setup in mind, sell the Heralds and you'll likely have a Galactus for next to nothing.
Anyone know if bbts or dork side is going to put him up for sale? I’d rather not drop the full $400 today, even if it means paying a bit of a premium.
I said "next to nothing." Wouldn't surprise me if the Heralds show up on ebay for $80-100 each. Which would make a 32" Galactus a steal at $100-$160.
I don't know about Surfer (though even he has a shot given the Walgreens exclusive sells for over a hundred right now and there's no other viable "normal" Surfer), but Morg and Nova would certainly sell for a lot given they've not been released and anyone that thinks they'll see a release anytime soon is kidding themselves. Some of the dumbest "rare" or "hard to find" Legends sell routinely for really stupid prices. I could see it coming really close if it didn't actually pay for Galactus completely.
Judging by how Unicron went, "bit of a premium" would probably be a vast understatement. (This is the price BBTS always had him for) Transformers: War For Cybertron Unicron
I don't know about that...They showed a comparison and the main thing that makes Galactus taller is his head:
It’s almost like they put out characters that aren’t the exact right version for you to buy only to release the other versions later on and get you to buy them to complete the version of the team you want? Don’t Think, Only CONSUME!!!!!!
I've been 50/50 on backing Galactus... 10 hours left. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to break up the Haslab Galactus set by selling off the heralds even to recoup some cost. I think an unmasked Galactus head and like a helmet prop would make the the figure more complete. If that was revealed as the final stretch goal, I think that probably would've nudged me. The Doom head is okay, in my head canon I'd probably just say it's Galactus in his Halloween/cosplay costume instead of saying it's Doom.
Even if you wouldn’t break up the set you will easily be able to recoup your money if you decide to sell it later.
