This isn't the place for TMNT news
LOL @ Bum Thor. I've never seen any of that wave in a B&M store. I saw a few of the figures at FYE and there was no way in hell I was paying $30 each plus tax. I only wanted Heimdall and Valkerie. I was too late when GameStop listed them for $16.97.
I barely saw it in 2019 and when I did, it was usually at GameStop but not the whole wave. Hopefully figures in it like Iron Man aged well since that was MCU Tony’s last armor and had a classic look.
I had that wave on pre-order at Amazon, but later dropped all but Valkyrie and Iron Patriot as money had gotten tight at that point, then the wave vanished the price quadrupled and I never ever saw it at retail.
Got my Thanos, so glad they fixed the tunic for this release. Love him, just wish they would have included a gauntlet fist hand. Even all the artwork has the closed fist.
I just got my Firestar today, and while I'm thrilled to finally get this character, the portraits are sub-par. You're forced to choose between weird blowing hair or giant pink lips, and neither really looks like I think Angelica should. Hasbro has made such great strides with the female heads in recent years, it's disappointing that this figure is a little... homely, for lack of a more accurate word.
I'm 100% convinced that she will reappear in a future spidey retro wave, probably sans Ms Lion, and have a much better noggin sculpt. We'll all have to rebuy this figure b/c the new one will actually be pretty. But the old one will still be in demand because of the dog.
This is the (hasbro) way.
Yeah, I’m not thrilled with the face sculpts either. There’s something off about both of them, maybe in the shape of the nose.
yeah. very disappointed by the heads. pretty much forced to use the blowing hair. I can't get her to turn her head with the other one due to the extra large collars. at least we got her finally...but in hand...it blew my high.
When I look at the pink-lipped sculpt, this is what I see:
Do you think it's the lack of a widow's peak in her hairline?
That's certainly part of it.
Custom Marvel Legends Schoolgirl Gwen
Ms. Lion makes way more sense in a classics wave.
I'd think if they were going to release the same costume, they'd do a Spider-man and his Amazing Friends three pack for Comicon or something and we'd all buy it for not only the new Firestar head, but an updated Ice Man and the otherwise-rare classic Spidey.
I'd be perfectly ok with an Amazing Friends 3-pack, but not if it's an unobtainium exclusive. Amazon or fan-channel, sure.
A retro carded Firestar would be cool, I'm a sucker for those.
I still hold out hope that they will do a stand alone Iceman.
Reason being that usually 3 packs have at least one all new figure. But a 3 pack of retro Spidey, Firestar and Iceman would all be rereleases/remolds
They need to retire that head ASAP. The Old man Logan head with the hat (from the Hawkeye 2 pack) was pretty good imo.
That hasn’t been a thing for me, personally. I think the problem with the cartoon face is the shape of the eyes. It seems like they’re sloping up towards her brow instead of towards each other. It could just be that the bottoms of her eyes are too straight, which gives them a funny shape and shows too much skin beneath her eyes in the mask. The shape of her mask is a little off too.
The face on the wind blown head is too old. She doesn’t look like she’s in her late teens/early twenties.
What other Spider-Man villains are missing? Other than stuff from the ultimate universe all I can think of is swarm , paste pot mr negative, tarantula and maybe like menace and the grey goblin
Credit to Hasbro, they've got most of the key villains covered, I think it's pretty much down to collectors wanting specific tweaks to make em the particular versions they want (i.e. Doc Ock in suit from the early 90s, a bulkier McFarlane style Venom etc). The only ones that I can think of right now that have multiple appearances and were parts of a significant era are probably Vermin, Cardiac from the 90s, and Morlun and the Inheritors from the Spider-verse storyline.
