only a bunch of storms and 3 gambits at the target i went to today, they had most of the fix-wave and prof x/magneto and old man logan/hawkeye 2 packs but nothing much else.
My Carnage got cancelled, but that's fine since he was just going to be an extra. Rogue and Gambit actually came through, though!
Man, I ended up liking her over the Juggernaut and Pyro two pack, which was completely unexpected. The face sculpt brings so much more life over the generic Juggernaut one and the brighter colors like great in hand. Nice pic!!
Are you talking about the Logan,Jean, & Cyclops pack? The molds will be available standalone someday. However, I am thinking of purging my entire collection and could save you a lot of money.
If you're talking about the Love Triangle 3 pack I'm pretty sure Jean will get a standalone release eventually. That particular version of Cyke and Wolverine? Not so sure to be honest. Maybe retro carded at some point, but I don't particularly see a rush on Hasbro's part to put out yet another version of that particular Wolverine and Cyke.
I was actually debating on whether to buy a second Love Triangle set. I'm really hoping most of the Animated/Jim Lee-era X-Men get retro-carded releases, though. I'm still perplexed at the use of Grey Beast. I would expect that most collectors would have lined up for an Animated-style Beast with that new head sculpt on the retro-card. I know I would have. Still haven't bought that Grey Beast yet, either.
I passed on Grey Beast as I'm honestly 100% positive that a Blue Beast will be released with all those accessories on a Retro Card at some point in the future. Especially since that new head very much screams Animated X-Men.
I want a retro Cyclops (new buck), Psylocke (new hair piece and new face printing) and a Blue Beast (extra heads) I'm sure we'll get a retro release of Jean and Wolverine eventually. With Cyclops, I don't think it'll be the jacket one, but the original release that we'll get a retro release of. It's a great set! I have it and no regrets on my end. I wonder if we'll get more retro release announcements on Fan First Friday.
Got retro Gambit today. Hadn’t realized how much unique tooling the Gambit mold got until now(the pink panels on the legs are raised instead of just being painted on). I’m glad I waited until now to get Gambit as I prefer the retro paint job. The eyes shouldn’t have had the pupils painted but that’s an easy fix. Got Captain Marvel, I’d been eyeing this figure before. Good except for the knees. I think this uses the same buck comic Prowler and the Walmart powered Black Panther as the knees are limited. Glad to have a classic Marvell but seems like there’s something missing. I do prefer this one over the old Toy Biz one though which looked scrawny at some joints. Lastly got stealth Captain America from the game. I wasn’t big on the game costumes. However the paint job and unmasked head sculpt on this stood out. I use it as a modern strike suit cap in my collection. Not bad, except for the shield not clipping to the forearm securely. You’re better off having it held in hand using the peg that plugs into the back. Yay for Target sale. Not surprisingly, negative zone Spider-Man is still shelfwarming.
They actually came today: I actually never even had an issue with Gambit's hair until I got this new one today and now I'm all,"DAMN! How did I not notice how inaccurate the old hair was?" The only thing I don't like is that they changed the hinge from up and down on the right hand to left and right. I also like Rogue a lot more than I anticipated so now I'm wondering if I'm just going to keep that new body as my main Rogue rather than just switching the heads as I intended.
Well, I thought I was okay with the Juggernaut wave Rogue, but never mind! The new headsculpt really is a million times better than the old one, I wasn't expecting the white part to be a separate part! I prefer the colors on the new one as well. Though there is one thing the old one does better... The old one has a bit of brown paint above the shoulder joint, which definitely looks better. Also I just noticed that the X symbol on my new one is a bit misaligned. Ah well, still looks better with the black.
