Reminds me of one of my favorite cards I had back in the day. I had the foil version which me and my friends thought was super special.
I like playing "Where's Waldo" with the copyright marking on your pics...lol. My replacement Love Triangle set showed up today. Jean's face is fine this time, but, the blue on her titties and tummy was jacked up and Wolverine's left knee had a pin that was so badly misfired that it was almost folded in half when they installed it (using a .22 cal masonry nail gun apparently...lol). Fuck it. I fixed the paint and did my best to straighten the pin. It's all good. I just can't believe I've had this much trouble getting an error-free set. In hindsight, I should have picked up one of the sets I saw in GameStop. Anyway, I'm now 3 figures closer to my 90's X-Men team. I still need Rogue and Hoverchuck...and a 90's toon Morph if they ever make him...
Nice. Already ordered She-Hulk and Thing a week or so ago for $17 apiece though. Threw in a $15 retro blue and white Wasp and a $7 Lady Deadpool into the order too. Supposed to arrive Wednesday.
This stand that came with Widow is great. Kind of a shame that the effects can only really be used on it.
More of a customization question: I’m missing the head on the BAF Apocalypse and saw that there are plenty on eBay that are cast and just need paint for around $12. What would be the best option for paint? Just not willing to pay $90+ for the BAF head that I see some folks are listing. Or, has anyone here actually painted an Apocalypse head and has any tips? Post some pics perhaps.
Did you paint that JL Batman silver? Every once in a while I contemplate getting the Dark Knight Batman to do the same thing.
I recommend Testors or Tamiya acrylics...Mr. Color and Vallejo are supposed to be pretty good as well (I've never used them, though). Any time someone asks about painting action figure heads, I always think of Darren Carnall. There's a lot to learn by watching his videos. He's a God Damn master. It's $40, but casting cave has a great looking painted head for Apocalypse. Now if we can just get his Horsemen in the rider series.
Aren't they going to rerelease Apocalypse? Hope they make him with flat colors instead of metallics. Love the effects you use in your pics. Always got a real comic feel to them. You have a signature style, I always know it's yours without seeing the username.
As far as I'm aware that's just been fan speculation ever since the single release AoA Apocalypse was announced in conjunction with former bafs like Monster Venom and the rumored Kingpin getting single releases. Though I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to reissue any of the popular bafs if larger figures have been selling well for them so it may indeed happen eventually.
I think this is the reissue(AOA deluxe). Not what I’m familiar with. Grew up on the 90’s TV show look. Would like a recolor in purple and blue.
This is different. That's AoA Apocalypse, coinciding, sort of, with the upcoming Age of Apocalypse X-wave. An Apocalypse reissue mentioned above would be the earlier BAF, possibly redecoed.
I’ve heard the AoA apocalypse may come with two heads? Might be able to customize one of those for yours and then sell the AoA figure. But yeah, if you wait long enough they probably will reissue Apocalypse. I’m in the same boat, I have the rest of him (well, minus the cables that came with Wolverine but I don’t consider those essential and my Psylocke is still in her box)
