Gah! I always wondered why in the fuck people were complaining about taxes at BBTS... They hit you with it when shipping your loot.

I almost refuse to order from ebay/mercari unless I can 'best offer' the taxes in. Why should I have to pay taxes on used shit?

 

Same. I used to use them all the time as my go-to place for most things I couldn't find in stores. I'm also not a fan of the way they charge taxes if you have a POL. There's no reason that they can't charge you the taxes when you add stuff to your POL instead of waiting until you ship it. Now instead of just needing to know how much shipping you'll need you also have to try and calculate your taxes too when budgeting to ship your POL.

 

Taxes are actually calculated on where they're shipped to. So if they were to start taxing items as they're added, there's potential that they'd have to redo it if you change your address, or ship it to another city/county/state with a different rate.

 

yeah, the small markups at BBTS are annoying. It's a little like Gamestop. This weekend I decided to order a 2nd monster venom from them, and then I ordered the Carbonized Boba Fett. Then I went to Pulse and saw they were both available there cheaper and with free shipping so I cancelled the BBTS pre orders. I think they should either charge for shipping or mark up their figures a little but not both. Or at least offer free shipping at $50 or something.

In the meantime I ordered the weapons from deadly origin Black Widow.

Sales tax on the marketplaces is a complete clusterfuck. But they all benefit from fees charged on tax so they're in no hurry to fix it. Also annoyed that nobody has any way to accommodate tax exempt purchases. But, again, they benefit from doing it wrong so wrong it'll stay.

 

Pre-ordered Black Widow from zavvi usa.

If she becomes available for a fair price before the 30th, I'll purchase it off ebay or Walmart.
