IDK, the way people steal BAF parts and swap out figures to return them... I'm thinking there are people out there with no integrity...
I haven't seen figure swaps too often around here, but that does really suck. I don't recall in the Toy Biz days people were able to get away with doing that as easily mainly cause the packages were obviously not designed to be resealed unlike the modern Hasbro ones. And speaking of 2-packs...I don't suppose anyone has a Spidey/Mary Jane one, do they? I found it once at the local TRU, but didn't have the funds for it at the time. Came back later, and all were gone. I lucked out on all the other 2-packs multiple times otherwise.
Barnes and Noble has put some Legends in the clearance aisle. 12" figures are $25 and 6" riders/bikes are $20.
Oh man....I think that might be the wave with Heroes Return Iron Man and Nova Storm Human Torch. Both dated but still decent today. Yup I have only seen Klaw VS Suri once and that was months after release right before TRU was going out. Someone had hid it quite a ways over. Calling it now, The Rock as MCU Gladiator. The Juggernaut can smell what he's cooking and entire continent away.
Does it seem to anyone else like those MCU 10th anniversary packs all just up and disappeared suddenly? I don't think my B&N even had Legends. Although, it also got taken out by a tornado, so I can't even check...
Sorry to hear. Has anyone seen the Antman VS Yellowjacket set outside of GameStop? My local B&N stores never had a bunch of Legends, usually just some on endcaps, right after BP/IW/DP2 came out.
Nope, it was the wave with Cat Beast, Tigra, Punisher, Nova, DD, Black Bolt. All of them are terrible by today's standards. The wave you're thinking of is the WM Ares wave from '08. That wave didn't age well either, with only comic Crossbones being worthwhile IMO. I've got pretty much all of those early Hasbro legends, and they're completely forgettable, just taking up space in bins.
Thanks it's been a decade. I think Nova Storm Torch is cool, always loved the deco but the Walgreens body definitely smokes it. Heroes Reborn Iron Man is something I doubt Hasbro would redo. For its time for then-Hasbro standards it was a decent Iron Man.
Oh yeah, I had no problem with any of them at the time. I bought them all, including variants. But wow, when you put them next to modern figures... woof. They're all short, gangley, ill-proportioned, bow-legged, and poorly sculpted. And those ball hips... every time I pick one up and mess with it, I just give up and toss it back in the bin. Trying to pose those legs in anything but a static pose is like solving a puzzle.
Hiders? Hahaha.. That's another cheapos next to Swappers. Incident of Hiders in my location isn't that rampant although I cans spot some. Like when I browse the pegs I start from the back of the lined up boxes hanging. Infront, you see pegwarmers but at back end I saw 90's Deadpool It's so obvious someone put it there for them to visit it back and get it. Or they'll send SMS to their friends like: "Hey, I saw 90's DP here. I put it at the far end of the displays. Just go here and get it there" Sometimes I can even spot rare MLs not being in their proper shelves. Like in the shelves of babies' / toddler section I was like.. "Whoa.. WTF is this? Hiders in Action!"
Excellent deadpan, my friend. Do a store search for the Medusa, DD, and Antman. The results are hilarious.
ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! I MISSED OUT ON THE THING!!!!! I was at work and had no way of placing an order even on break, I texted my mother to see if she could order but it wouldn't let her Great and Walgreens took him down off their website too so I guess its off to eBay, its Fantastic Four not Fantastic Three. If I can't get a Thing by the end of the year I might as well sell off the other three. F*ck Walgreens, f*ck exclusivity.
Okay, Walgreens is making no sense to me. So the website says that every store in my area has Thing. I went to two stores, neither one of them had Thing, but the dude found a whole case of Silver Surfers in the back.
Oh wow, seriously? You're both from Buffalo? What part? I grew up on the West Side off of Grant Street by West Ferry where Frontier Liquor is (or may have been, no idea if it is still there).
