You can make him naked?
Apocalypse Wave has now officially landed on my homeland.
Well if my sources are accurate, stores got 2 boxes of the wave.
Why 2 boxes? Probably the local distributor is merely testing the market first
So what are the 2 case assortments per store?
- Full Case of Apocalypse Wave
- Full Case of Tiger Stripe Wolverines.
Next, I would like share a Marvel Legends story after seeing that naked swapped Cable above..
Our local TRUs has implemented a memo. Marvel Legends will no longer displayed at the usual shelves or pegs.
They are now displayed behind the Counters / POS / Cashier. You have to ask assistance of a sales guy if you want to checked out the MLs.
It's like there's CHECKPOINT before you checked out the figures.
Reason: Figure / Parts Swapping / Item Stealing by Schemers has now reached our homeland. That's FUCK.
If you ask a regular sales guy about the ruling, their alibi is "Because these are promotional items". But insider info doesn't deny. I mean, will a corporate decision and reasons be told in public?
- Either customers that are really schemers or
- The sales person doing inside jobs of stealing, swapping MLs and doing scalper activities or
- The Sales person are in cahoots with the customer-schemers
I don't know whether to be happy about the new ruling.
Maybe it's for anti-scalping and hoarding reason. Which I'm good with it.
But the fun of toy hunting and the thrill is now get killed by it.
I mean like you're racing the store but no matter what you do you gotta cross that check point first no matter what.
It's like.. In my TEN YEARS of collecting MLs here, This is the first time such incident got somewhat rampant. So rampant that got the attention of our local TRUs.
So many MLs have passed in 10 years time. Why such scheme only now got proliferated?
Was it the "too much relevance" of MLs due to the popularity of Infinity War? The high demand it created that made buyers resort on illegal means?
I thought I'd go ahead and assemble my MCU Avengers... or at least their Comic Book Counterparts
As you can see I'm still missing a Hulk, Quicksilver, Falcon, War Machine, & Winter Soldier... Maybe one day, really hope to see them in future waves or even the Vintage series
I really want a retro hulk and Thor.
That's pretty hilarious. Not the store's reaction but "adults" stealing parts of $20 toys. What do they do for an encore, empty the ketchup pumps at McDonalds?
Just found Collosus and have him in my shopping cart.
Well I ordered a Loose Monster Venom and Scream off dorkside. I just went for the whole Sauron wave on there as well. Omega Red is looking like an impressive individual figure. That should justify getting the whole wave. Plus that's 2 baddies from one of my favorite video games Xmen Legends 2.
My luck today so far:
My Ant-Man and Yellowjacket MCU anniversary set just came in the Mail. If anyone here is interested in just Ant-Man shoot me a PM,
I’m hoping to sell him off
I'm not surprised. One of my local TRU's did the same before they closed. There's either someone, or a few people around this area that's been stealing BAF parts all across the nearby cities. From FYE, to Target, Walmart, whatever. With the amount of money they spent on gas traveling all around they could've just bought the completed BAF figure for probably less in gas money on eBay.
Found at my local walgreens, cancelled my dorkside order soon as I got in the car. Now I'm just going to order storm and magneto.
WTF...Walgreens? Good score sir. The Walgreens around me suck complete ass.
I stopped by 2 Walgreens last week, no Xmen wave yet. 1 of them that used to be first with new releases and hit hard with whole cases has slowed down since being bogged down with several figures that wouldn't sell last year.
The Abomination wave truly was an abomination.
Meanwhile GameStop has moved their release date for Xmen to 8/1.
Toys r us in Ontario
Sure, if they're stealing for their own collection. That said, friend of mine knows a guy who's been buying Legends taking the baf piece and returning the figures without it. Builds the baf and then sells said baf on eBay. Apparently this asshole has sold five Sasquatch's, four Cull Obsidian's, and seven Thanos' for around $50 - $80 respectively in the last two months. It's bullshit. He's stealing the baf pieces to deliberately flip the full figure and fuck over other people who might have been able to buy the wave at retail instead.
That's ridiculous. Wish Hasbro would go back to Toy Biz style clam shells, that way it would be very easy to tell if someone deliberately cut open the package to steal the part. Hiding that would take some effort.
It's not fool proof but clamshells are harder to open up than merely slicing through tape.
Agreed. It's not as collector friendly like the current packaging, but it's certainly a much bigger theft deterrent.
I know right?! I left empty handed today. I thought about getting the cyclops and Phoenix set because I had sold my original set last year. I still may go back and get it.
