Whoa! You picked up KM? Its a beautiful figure, yes? In my part of the world, he's shelf warming but IMO it's because he's double packed? But there's 'movement'. I think its a good movie Hasbro is double packing the main hero and villain. Oh yeah, I'm waiting for a new classic Thor! We need a new Odin too - bulkier. The current one is too lean for me. Other than that, I would like to see classic Loki and Sif. Personally, I would like a Surtur BAF as he's one of Thor's main villains...top 3 IMO. However, I have no idea how Hasbro is going to sell a 'demon' like figure! Haha!
The demon thing shouldn't be in issue - Steppenwolf is just as big and horny. It's the size. Surtur and Laufey would both be too big even for 12 inch figs. My Target has one just like it. I had to double check that that wasn't correct.
Size really wouldn't be a deterrent if they really wanted to though. Didn't stop them from doing Fin Fang Foom, Masterworks Galactus, and Masterworks Sentinel... none of those guys are in scale. It's a matter of Hasbro wanting to.
Saw my local Target has the exclusive 12" black Spider-Man on sale for $23.99. I can't believe this line is going to continue.
personally I'm a fan of just searching for the parts individually. I built Vulture, Gladiator Hulk, Hulkbuster, and Ultron for less than $30 each
No doubt it can be done more cheaply, but for those not wanting to spend the time tracking them down for less, it isn't excessive. Edit: and no, I didn't buy one.
Don't forget how huge their comic Thor is. He is way bigger than he should be. Galactus is fine because he change sizes. Plus, his size always seemed to just depend on how big Kirby decided to draw everyone else around him.
We need Masterworks Fin Fang Foom. I feel the same, I think they should've brought out figures like Wolverine and Thor early on. The line got more appealing with later releases but it might be a little too late. The MSRP is what killed it. I also found it odd that Cap, Iron Man and Spidey, released during Civil War, were not based on the MCU designs. I prefer comic designs but it's a really odd thing that they went comic instead of MCU giving their release timing around Civil War. They smartly made Black Panther the MCU version close in time for the movie premiere. Yes I picked it up. I think it will be the main shelfwarmer since he's the villain and looks similar to Black Panther. I think Panther will end up being tough to find. Antman and Homemade costume Spidey were the toughest figures to find locally from their respective waves(aside from Moon Knight). Killmonger is excellent. Shelfwarmer now, but a damn fine one at that. So far in Walgreens I've gone to, I've seen many Killmongers, no Black Panther. Saw the girl but someone stole her BAF piece. Iron Man is great but a very odd inclusion into the wave. The Iron Man in the GOTG1 wave made sense since he was actually supposed to show up in the movie with a very similar set of armor.
Even my Targets had them down to $20 in November or December and they sat long enough for the price to bump back up to $60. On the one hand, I don't think $50 is crazy, but on the other, you'd have to be crazy to buy into this line with that kind of pricing.
They all look pretty damn cool to me. I haven't seen one that I thought was bad yet. I never went past Iron Man though because I don't want to dedicate real estate to them. 12" figures are asking a lot of space and I hate clutter. IM sits in a closet which makes me wonder why I bought it to begin with. Cool figure though.
If they make a 12 inch Ant Man for the movie this year I'll get that. Will make a better Giant Man than the BAF.
Hadn't thought about it like that. Now you're making me hope they don't make one so I can save myself $50
I think it was Shartimus Prime who bought the Hot Toys Ant Man for that purpose, so it could be worse lol. I also wouldn't pay full price of I could help it. I would probably check Marshalls around Christmas. They had a lot of 12" Caps and Iron Men
