Oh really? I've been waiting a lifetime for a Mangog figure so I hope you are right! And I'd be just fine with this list of figures. I wouldn't mind a second wave with classic Odin and a BAF Odinsword.
Mangog is a big deal in the comics right now, so it's only a matter of time. He's also largely unchanged from his Kirby design, so it's a no-brainer. My picks: - Modern Loki, either his Agent of Asgard look or his current fur-trimmed look - "Gold" Thor/ Unworthy Thor, depending on how quickly he adopts the former look. There's already an Unworthy Thor from the SDCC set but he doesn't have the short hair or blue shirt he's currently sporting - Malekith, from the SDCC set. - Comic Heimdall - War Thor - Gorr the God Butcher (not likely, but damnit I want one) - If there's a seventh, and with Mangog's strange torso shape there could be, I'm sure there's someone out there hoping for a new Hercules.
Got some ML this weekend. Killmonger: this is possibly the best figure of the Okoye wave. From the paint(the spots and gold, WOW) to the parts separation(his collar is actually a piece molded in yellow!), this is one damn impressive figure. Black Panther looks good but Killmonger as a figure, looks better in my eyes. I don't think both figures share parts. Ironically this is the current shelfwarmer in my area. Only issue with mine was that the right butterfly joint felt somewhat stuck(think it's free now) and the right bicep is looser than the left(more than likely due to the way it's packaged). Wish Hasbro would just pack these figures in as neutral of a pose they can get. Hate joint warpage and damage from package posing. Also got Iron Man. Thank goodness this figure doesn't have a BAF piece. The sculpt is good but the lines get broken up due to the articulation cuts. Range of motion is excellent. There was a slender Iron Man buck before in ROML that was repainted as Iron Patriot. That mold had restrictive articulation due to hindrances from the sculpt. This figure does not. One of the most poseable ML 616 Iron Man armors we've gotten in a long time. Just be careful since I thought the Repulsor blast hands had a hinge but they're actually fixed posed. This left me no doubt that Hasbro could pull off a new Modular armor and War Machine and make them well. I like this better than the Bleeding Edge armor figure. The Tony Starkhead sculpt has plain paint, definitely could've been better. Thor as a frog with BAF torso of any random in-demand character in a costume no one wants but someone on the marketing team thought was brilliant because it homages some off panel moment now revered on sites such as Reddit and other sources or lack thereof Classic Loki Classic Thor Bor War Thor New costume Thor Comic Hela Beta Rey Bill
I think we'll see a seven figure wave if they do a baf Mangog. My picks: -Unworthy Thor -Fandral -Hogun -Volstag -Loki (modern or classic) -Hela -Beta Ray Bill
Hrm. I'm torn on if we'll get a Kirby Thor or not from a wave like this or if it'll be in a "Toy Biz" style Classic wave (assuming that keeps going), so for a fun list, no Kirby Thor: Kirby Loki Ultimate Thor Gold Armed Thor Movie Sif Movie Heimdall Malekith (from the SDCC set redecoed)
Man I really hope Hasbro puts out a classic Thor sooner rather than later. Also, we are overdue for a Beta Ray Bill update.
All I want at Toy Fair is for Hasbro to announce a Giant Sized X-Men box set. They don't even have to have the figures ready to show off yet. Just tell me one is officially coming.
Should be soon, maybe March. That Cap figure looks odd though, maybe it was based on concept art and I get the feeling Hasbro wasn't able to get Chris Evans' likeness approved. None of their figures of him look like him. Especially this new one.
Actually the big problem I've heard is that Hasbro doesn't have to get the MCU actors likeness approval just approval from Marvel Studios. RDJ has bitched about it in interviews a couple times (Evans has mentioned it once or twice too, but not all pissy and cry baby like RDJ has), but apparently the actors sign away say over their likeness as the characters when they sign their contracts. So, Marvel Studios can do whatever they like with said actor's likeness without approval from them... which is probably why we get less than stellar likenesses sometimes when looks aren't finalazed, etc.
Source? (not disputing it, just curious to hear a multi-million dollar actor defend their disappointment with a toy)
Couple different interviews man... I want to say around the times of the big movies? Like Avengers and Age of Ultron? It's been a couple years and honestly they've all done so many interviews I wouldn't know where to begin looking at this point. I suppose you could try to google it.
In some cases they make the actor or actress actually look better though. Like that Netflix Jessica Jones biotch.
A bit late to this, but: OG Thor OG Loki Hercules Beta Ray Bill Gorr Thunderstrike (he's not already slated for another wave, right?) Skurge (should be easy since they can pull from the 3.75 version, like Thunderstrike & Bill) Umm I definitely thing the Netflix Jessica is a good figure & likeness, but no I don't see or agree with any notion that the figure looks better than Krysten Ritter herself.
