So what's the difference between the TRU Groot and the original BAF Groot? Just a different head?
Yeah, just a smiling head vs. the blank expression of the original baf.
yes and potted groot and baby groot
and more paint
Went ahead a ordered Warlock for 65$ shipped. Not looking forward to finding Cyclops or Colossus and having him incomplete. Its cheaper to get the BaF then just those 2 figures alone. This way i don't have to pay for a MIB one down the road if i don't find him at retail.
I did the same thing and plan to do the same thing. I glued his belt in place too. Just a drop behind the buckle to keep it straight when posing him. Need to do that to Rogue's leg straps now that i think about it.
Came with Wolverine, right? I think so.
Nevermind, got a Juggernaut head.
I actually like the newer version of Groot more because of the smiling head. The main reason why I picked up the newer version was because it came with potted and baby Groot too!
I only need Drax and Nova from the old wave to complete my GOTG figures including Groot. If I could, I would just buy the missing Arm and Drax (with Groot Torso) and then move onto Nebula, Mantis, (I just got Yondu), and the new Rocket (because he has more articulation).
Now I have to get Drax too and while I'm at it, I might as well get the new Starlord and Groot and just give up on finishing the last BAF pieces.
could get the new drax.the new starlord is better than the old one.it might be worth it to wait for that wave to go on sale and get nova.
I think it would be a waste of a BAF but it is needed. I don't understand why they couldn't just make a ML deluxe figure of GR with bike. They've done it with the Black Series.
But I'm still hoping that Mezco makes a GR with bike. It would probably sell like crazy so I'm not sure why they haven't done it yet.
Did the speeder bike set sell well or was it just poorly distributed? It's hard to tell where I live.
Gamestop discounted them to 15 bucks last year, I picked up 3 of em
The pricepoint/size class quickly died out within a year in my area. There was a good amount to find on clearance IIRC. I think older fans like us would buy a Ghost Rider/bike set for $40 but even then I think it's pushing it.
Somehow Toy Biz was able to make 2 comic ML Ghost Riders with their bikes included at standard MSRP.
Hard to tell, but it is interesting to see that we aren't hearing anything about new Deluxe packs after the two Hoth sets.
Both of which were mostly completely solid plastic with tiny wheels hidden in the bigger wheels. Oh... and Vengeance got his bike too. The only part of these I remember moving were the tiny wheels and the fronts of the bikes could turn. I'd expect much much more than that if Hasbro made a $40 GR with bike set.
The TRU Groot has better joint stability than the BAF. Probably due to the fact he was completely assembled at the factory, as opposed to being pieced together. Either way, I much prefer him to my BAF.
I stopped by Target after catching a movie yesterday morning and saw a stray Polaris, so looks like even mine got the new X-wave in at some point. Cyclops is the only "buy on sight" figure in this wave for me, so I'm content to wait for Amazon/Walmart/TRU listings to go up.
And they're too small and look kind of goofy. GR looks like he's in Mario Cart when riding them.
Pretty sure I missed X-Men waves at both my Targets going by stock numbers. Did manage to grab a Green Goblin on Amazon this morning though so there's that.
Crazy thing seeing GOTG wave 1 today at Target. Thought Target got rid of that wave long ago.
platinum series edition
basically kust made more so that collectors who missed out on that wave could get it and complete groot
