isnt that because Tigertrack is an ehobby exclusive repaint? and Prowl/bluestreak/smokescreen are regular TT Masterpieces altough that doesnt explain why sunstorm is MP11S... so I could be wrong  

 

I'm guessing it may be because of slight mold changes between the Datsun bros, similar to how MP-14 Red Alert has differently molded wheel shoulders, light bar, and head sculpt compared to MP-12 Lambor. Prowl, for example, didn't have shoulder rockets in the cartoon show while Bluestreak and Smokescreen did (and the latter two had slight mold differences between them as well). Just a guess.

MP Acidstorm, not sure I want but it makes it more tempting to pick up both him and MP Sunstorm to display next to FT-03 Quakewave so Shockwave can have (2 of 3 of) his Rainmaker troops.

 

Actually isn't Sunstorm an exclusive too?

My best guess is that as they are working off the cartoon, Tigertrack and Sunstorm are not developed characters and not directly part of G1 continuity (although a slight Sunstorm Toon appearance). It appears that Masterpiece is toon based.

Albeit if that was EXACTLY the case, wouldn't they have gone with BLUE Rumble and RED Frenzy as the toon?

That would be cool to have Shockwave with his Rainmaker Trio.

 

I wouldn't mind more Seekers in alternate colors, even background colors. They're the "Cobra Troopers" in the background of so many episodes. Plus, it fleshes out the Decepticons.

THAT said, I totally don't expect them to sell as much as the big 6 seekers, b/c hey, not "canon."

In Japanese dub of the G1 cartoon, Frenzy was blue and Rumble was red as it was meant to be. They mixed the names up in the US.

 

Didn't the US cartoon come first? In which case it could be said that the Japanese show mixed the names up. Anyway, bring on more MPs. Still hoping for a domestic release of MP-11.

 

Yes, the cartoon came to Japan a year later in '85, but that doesn't really matter.
Megatronus27 was talking about toon accuracy, so my point was the fact they were actually toon accurate... only in Japan. (comics and toys also had them as RIRFIB in the US) They were never known as RIBFIR in Japan.

I'm actually a RIBFIR guy, I'm just sharing info.

 

What this guy's trying to say daddytron, is that they intended for RIRFIB in the English version of the cartoon, but the whole RIBFIR thing was an animation error.

Where is MP Megatron to go with MP-10??? We have 2 autobot leaders, and a whole bunch of cars from season 1 released/to be released. In terms of high ranking Decepticons (nevermind actual releases) the Decepticons have Starscream and Soundwave, and that's about it.

Is it inevitable that a new MP Megatron will eventually released? Or unlikely?

I hope you are right. He's my #1 most wanted. MP-5 was good for its time but I'd like something a bit more solid with decent legs that looks good with the current MPs. I'm afraid to even transform my MP-5. Had him for 5 yrs but when I transferred him two months ago two tabs broke off.

 

I think it's inevitable too that it will eventually be released. I'll be stunned if it isn't eventually.

 

I look forward to MP Megatron. I will say, however, that I avoided MP-05 b/c I thought he looked bad. I never loved any Megatron toy (yet loved the character), so a new, updated MP Megatron will be looked upon with much scrutiny. I plan to scrute hard.

 

Wouldn't it be cool if we got Masterpiece Headmasters such as Chromedome, Hardhead, Highbrow, Brainstorm, Weirdwolf, Skullcruncher, and Mindwipe? The Hasbro MP Rodimus Prime was a Targetmaster, so why not MP Headmasters?
