It appears to be a custom form of the Decepticon insignia, like how the Wreckers carry a hammer on their Autobot insignia (why a hammer, I don't know).

With TF2 the Con insignia was made of spikes, like on the Fallen's face - so it could possibly hints at some new faction that might appear to give the Autobots trouble in TF4. I wonder whom this could actually be...

Anyway, the logo is rocking. Great to finally have some TF4 news.

 

I think its probably just because they think a sleeker insignia works better for the logo and probably isn't a redesign of the actual insignia for the Decepticons at all.

 

They need a new insignia so you would know it's the lame movie Decepticons and not any of the cool Decepticons you might remember from somewhere else  

We've seen Hasbro experimenting with the Decepticon faction symbol on toys so it doesn't seem odd that the movies would experiment with it as well.

 

It means 4 New decepticons will be introduced.....

You sure about that? It is kind of hard at this point to know how many new Decepticons we will actaully be getting.

 

Well new logo. Want to know what I see? Another dorky comedy. With same director there is no chance to make something new. It will be still same plot, action and humour. Thats boring.

And how is it news? It's just a logo, it doesn't tell me anything about the movie except the fact that its the fourth movie and the deceptions will be in it...

People bitching about it being a bad logo clearly haven't considered the likely alternative route they could've gone: Trans4mers. Yuck.

 

I could care less it most likely won't show up on screen (TF3 with the autobot logo never did so it was pointless) its a bad logo to ME, so I'm not bitching about it, I just have a negative opinion, that's all

 

I think it's just a design aesthetic. If the insignia were the proper design, it would really stick out, keeping the current design and the four out of balance, but that's just me.

 

To me, this new logo looks like a combination of the Autobot and Decepticon logos as we know them. *shrug*

 

I think they just made it like that for the logo.

 

It's almost certainly just for marketing purposes. I doubt they've actually changed the logo/insignia. Plus, by the time the movie actually comes out, it will undoubtedly have a subtitle (e.g. Rise of Galvatron, Megatron's Revenge, Sam Gets Laid Off).

 

The logo is exactly the same as the Decepticon insignia used throught the other films, they just made it slightly thinner when editing it to be the same size as the '4'

Its just been horribly stretched when they copied and pasted it from their image archives.

 

Unless they go with the bad idea again of back from the dead I'm guessing they are going to need quite a few new Decepticons. Pretty much every Decepticon who was anyone in the film franchise is dead right now.

 

Unless Dark Energon raises it's Bayverse head.....*shudder*
