In my humble opinion 2016 has seen many great releases of transforming toys. There have been some dissapointing releases though. What are yours?

Mine are masterpiece Ironhide/Ratchet, TR Galvatron and TR Highbrow.

Highbrow is a headbobbing mess, with bad wrists and cumbersome rotors.

Ratchet and Ironhide's hip plates are just an eyesore.

Galvatron's stiff head is just a joke. The face plate means the head cannot be turned. It adds credence to the general feeling that the 2016 deluxes are better than the voyager products.

MP Tracks was my worst. I have plans to do the hip skirt relocation kits on my vanettes. I hate the skirts too but the rest of the toy is pretty good

    Titans Return Galvatron.

And it says a lot about this year's offerings that Galvatron is still excellent, only really hampered by that mask which is fixed with an x-acto, some GW paint (I've found that their palettes are the most pleasing and adhere well to plastic), and some superglue.

I got MP RoadRage this year. I wouldn't say I hate her but I consider the Tracks mold to be the weakest in the MP line (at least of the ones I've personally handled: I understand the MP9 one was pretty bad too). She looks ok from the front (better than Tracks with his ridiculous color scheme) but is just the least impressive figure in my display case.

Teeeeeeechnically RR is a 2015 release but she came out in late December so I'd say that's close enough.

Several figures let me down during the year, mainly third party stuff, but the one that stands out, simply because it was the one I most wanted to be great, was Unite Warriors Bruticus.

Luckily TakaraTomy redeemed themselves with Unite Warriors Computron. That set was divine.

TR Galvatron. So close to being a (finally) superb version of Galvatron... and yet he's not. Makes me wonder what the CW Prototypes are like.

Unite Warriors Bruticus was mine as well. Blastoff was not great, Brawl always comes untabbed, the back cannons or way to small, and he lacks a combined weapon.

Most disappointing figure to me is Titans Return Twinferno. The robot mode arms are just so awkward without proper elbows that let him hold his guns in a more sensible position, and the alternate mode for me at least is an unstable, ugly mess of warped plastic and parts that don't stay tabbed together.
Close second is Titans Return Soundwave. Why did it have to be chrome on that window?

Could be Blaster. He's way too tall and won't stay tabbed in boombox mode unless I pop off the leg ramps.

But Ravage is absolute shit. I wasn't expecting much when I bought him and still gave him away. I see people mindlessly throwing "Happy Meal" around to describe newer transformers, but Ravage is one of the few figures that could've easily been a bagged toy in the Beast Machines era.

I think I have to go with a lot of the Botcon offerings this year. That Ravage/Tigatron head is the worst, and it's on one of the worst CW molds to begin with. A bit underwhelmed with the entire boxset, really. Thankfully the Megatron redeems the group somewhat, he really did turn out well.

Titans Return Galvatron. Any time mods are necessary to make it even mildly acceptable: Return it! Get your money back! Nobody deserves to be paid for that mess. Everyone talks about the mask, but the issues just start there; I mean what is good about it? The arms? The cheaply built legs? The few tabs that don't stay? All the issues with cannon mode? The "jet" mode?

It's a hunk of junk; just walk away and forget it ever existed.

The legends in general have been pretty lackluster; hopefully that changes with kickback coming out. I haven't picked up a legends since.... viper.

I had it in hand many times and just could not pull the trigger. It is if somebody just dipped it in a vat of orange paint and said 'voilà! Job done'.

Legends Super Ginrai. I would've preferred if they just gave the TR pmop toy a better paintjob and only remolded the arms. His plateau feet are ugly as hell, even the original G1 toy has better feet. Other than that, everything was fantastic.

Definitely Titans Return Galvatron. Hollowness aside, that could have been an awesome toy if they weren't forcing the Headmaster gimmick on everything.

Unite Warriors Blastoff too, unfortunately. I still like it a lot but the alt mode as well as the tabbing issues and head popping off were sad.

I can't really think of anything else offhand, things were either as bad as they looked in pictures or I've set my bar low these days so I'm more pleasantly surprised.

For me it was MMC Jaegertron (Lockdown). Usually Mastermind Creations has some very solid figures, but this was just off to me.

Unite Warriors Blast Off. I didn't buy it, but I did watch/read a lot of reviews to talk myself into it. I couldn't. And I won't buy it if Hasbro releases it. After the great work on the Aerialbot modes and Alpha Bravo it's crazy HasTak couldn't build a decent Space Shuttle figure.
