The 2017 season somewhat starts off with the USA winning the World Baseball Classic. This really doesn't garner the big headlines, but this is a great accomplishment, and another notch on the belt for already decorated stars like Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford. I'm a Giants fan, so I'm biased. :p

I apologize if this thread has already been made. I searched for it and didn't find one for 2017.

Hopefully, the Pirates can stop being the redheaded stepchild of Pittsburgh sports and put together a great season like the Steelers and Penguins do. They haven't been as bad the last two years, but they don't seem like World Series favorites at the moment.

I do not expect anything different for the Marlins in the upcoming season. They will finish 3rd or 4th in the NLE Division.

Not expecting anything different from my Orioles this season compared to last season. Offensively, we're good, our bullpen is lights out, but our starting pitching sucks balls.

^My Giants have the opposite problem: our starters are good (except for the 5th starter, Matt Cain), but our bullpen is highly suspect. With Will Smith having elbow problems and probably needing surgery, that throws everything out of whack. We also have a big question mark in left field. Hopefully, Jared Parker emerges as the big bopper that we need.

I'm a Yankees fan so I wasn't expecting much this year but they have been killing it in spring training. Hopefully it's the start of something good.

That would make the Giants bullpen the devil. Good grief! Coughing up another lead... and this is only game one.

Great way to start the season for the Orioles. A walk-off Trum-bomb!

16th Rangers Opening Day in a row for me yesterday. Did not enjoy the shift to a night game. Got to try one of their new items: the Texas Snowball. BBQ brisket inside fried dough, covered in powdered sugar and topped with BBQ sauce. It was delicious.

And of course the bullpen - supposedly the biggest strength - tanked and blew the game.

The Giants pen blows more leads than a female adult film star. Good grief.

I am glad the Marlins finally won their first game. But they will still have a losing season.

Woo-hoo! The Orioles are the last undefeated team in the league. I need to enjoy it while it lasts.

Grrr. That giant green wall in Red Sox stadium assures that any ball hit over it is a home run. Damn you "Monster!"

Also, Rays need to whip their pitchers into shape. I know the Red Sox are good, but letting 17 hits in is ridiculous.

I just had my first beer the other day, did the Pirates really just sweep the Cubs at Wrigley or was that some strong stuff?
