This IPS screen is so bright you can't even see the GBA in the picture!

Boo speed booster is laaaame. Shine spark is still decent but not as awesome as Super Metroid executed it.

Kraid was cool, super easy as usual lol

    Grapple beam is fun.

I think I’m little over half way through.

X parasites have shown up. Got the ice missile from the blue EMMI.

    Just beat the game.

I liked the EMMI sections to an extent, but once they started being able to see you through walls and whatnot, they just became a massive pain.

Felt a couple of the fights really didn't need to have a third phase. Though I'm not really a fan of phased fights, anyways.

Not a fan of the "Metroid suit" design. But I guess this means "why can't Metroid crawl" is sort of canon now that Samus is established as essentially being a Metroid herself since Fusion, with it fully manifesting here.

I'm slowly working though Fusion on the side to refresh my memory and because it's a good excuse to try out the MiSTer GBA core, enjoying it quite a bit more then I did the first time round.

Got through the game's story in about 12 hours, now on my 'Hard mode' run.

    Very much liking this game.

I would love to play some classics before we get Dread but sadly my GC died and we haven't even got a GBA anymore... I wish there was a reliable place to get a replacement that wasn't $100!

My GameStop version at least came with Metroid pins for pre-ordering.

I just started playing and beat the first boss that gives you the cloak. That was a pain in the ass, but after dying about 10 times, I got the pattern down... except for when he pins you in the corner and there's no escape.

Am I the only one who sometimes forgets which button does what? When I think about it too long, I start screwing up and hitting the wrong buttons. lol

Good game but I hate how it traps you into fighting a boss when you find one. Want to go back and find power ups to help or explore more? Too bad, you're fighting this thing before you can go anywhere else.

yeah it is by design tho. you will see start to see 100% health boss run vids soon because the bosses are all about timing and not really much to do with health or resources. what you pick up along the way really is enough to beat any boss once the pattern is learned.

dread steals heavily from megaman series in that regard and im ok with it.

My special edition finally arrived! Even though it shipped from Japan, it's definitely the US version.
That may have been Mercury Steam's idea. Mirror of Fate was the same way, if I remember.
