Didn't even realize the new show was called Mega Man Fully Charged and already began airing. lol. Watched the first episode and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I'm not one to write something off before watching/reading/etc. but Fully Charged looks like such garbage. I can't even stand the concept of the smaller robot in his head, and the fact that he's not even named Rock (doesn't Aki also mean 'light' so his name is 'light light'). And while the design isn't terrible, why have a random human sister and not Roll?
It really is a world of difference when compared to say, Sonic Boom. While yeah, there was design changes, there's clearly a love for the franchise in the writing and whatnot.
Wait, why is Fully Charged dead? Are they not continuing the show after season 1? I watched it with my kids and we enjoyed it.
I just watched the megaman cartoon teaser. I'm kind of thrown back. Its kind of weird, but has some interesting elements that show potential. I like the little pixel art transition screens. The bot in the head thing is really weird though. I think i'd like the sister being in his ear all the time from base a bit better, but I will give it a chance.
Sad update: No Megamen for me till Tuesday because AmiAmi fucked up my address (first time they've ever done that and I've made no changes?) Legit had no state and left a digit out of my zip. At least DHL texted me to call and fix it vs. shipping it back,.
You're complaining about a Mega Man not being exactly like the original after we've had how many spinoffs?
Yea... especially crazy because I just got another DHL package from them a few days ago... oh well. Looking at the tracking it may even come monday so it's NBD but like I said at least the postal company lmk.
Considering that he is a high school student who has been renamed Aki Light, instead of Rock. Plus he has a tiny, annoying robot living in his head. His sister is a purple haired human named Suna, instead of a blonde robot named Roll. His brother is some spiky black robot thing named Namagem, instead of Proto Man. His bestie is Bert Wily. Guts Man is some sort of depressed compulsive eater with a Russian accent who makes ice cream out of garbage. And his main nemesis is a robot racist named Sgt. Night/Lord Obsidian. Why yes, I am absolutely complaining about it. There is a whole lot of wrong in that paragraph I just wrote friend. Do I like it? Yeah, I actually do. That doesn't excuse it from gutting so many essential things...like the main cast.
It really feels like Mega Man in name only. Instead of playing around with the MM world, they basically threw it out and just made up their own B.S. Honestly, even though it didn't last long, the Dreamwave comic does this story way better.
Did they really? Wow. I hope you get it soon. Pretty much yeah. I still want figures out of it though. Give me robot masters Jakks Pacific!
And that's what people were saying about Legends, .EXE, and Star Force once upon a time. No there's not. You're just being a genwunner over something that's blatantly not supposed to be the original series. Even if they changed all that crap you still wouldn't be happy because the setting and characterizations and designs are completely different. There's plenty wrong with Fully Charged but those things you rattled off aren't problems at all.
We got three of the latest 66 Mega/Rock Man blind boxes during a Tokyo shopping run. Result was two Star Force Rock Mans (boo!) and one Cut Man (yay!). My wife is really happy we got Cut Man since she loves that derp character (and I do a pretty good impression of his derp voice from that terribad 90's Mega Man cartoon ). At least with two Star Force Rock Mans (don't have any attachment to that version of the character) I can give him two bladed arm weapons and two dragon-headed arm blasters (why a dragon though? weird).
