I've seen people in the Squad 45 discord say the Aster spartan is made using transparent purple. I personally think it's just a trick of the light on the render.
Meijer was getting the carded figures not the blind bags last I saw. Since I have started using purple Spartans as army builders for Skeletor, that Aster is a welcomed addition. Not sure about soul patch though. Looks like Eduardo from the Extreme Ghostbusters.
I think I figured out why Mega bailed on the MOTU advent calendar... Perhaps the execs got to see the Revelation cartoon early and realized it wasn't really that good. Don't really see it creating any new MOTU fans, at least. But I'm really just not much of a PG-rated show type of guy these days... maybe kids, immature nerds, or people with limited life experience found it entertaining. Wanted a "Transformers the Movie" level of weight and got more "nostalgic cash grab" kind of feeling from it.
Since about Tuesday to Friday mine had been listed as arriving next Wednesday. Found it on my porch this morning. Happy Saturday! I have never picked up a Heroes series off Amazon, I love that they arrive in a Mega Brands outer shipping box. More so with Amazon shipping it in a plastic bag.
Cool. Realized Scarwglow still glows only the bones do not the whole figure. Trap jaw will go well next do the green skinned one. I don’t have Man-E, Tri-clops or Roboto eager to get them. Also very glad not to have to purchase another He-man
Think I saw somewhere on Instagram (so not sure how true) that the Halo 20th anniversary pack is releasing very soon. Did it ever go up for preorder anywhere?
My MOTU heroes wave showed up from Amazon today also. I added them to the stack of stuff I haven't had a chance to open yet. They look pretty cool though.
I wasn't going to keep the new release Scareglow, but after checking out the differences I think I will. The color of the boots and waist are the darker navy/midnite blue/purple color of the vintage MotU figure where the first MC version were a lighter purple. But the 1st release purple color for the cape matches the vintage toy better. So if you swap out the parts taking the new Mega Contrux body, and add the older cape you have a pretty good representation of the vintage Mattel figure.
I was getting this set mainly for Man-E-Faces and Trapjaw, but I notice for the first in your pictures that Trapjaw's robotic arm is red?? That doesn't look too good, imo...I thought the robot arm was black. I dunno how I missed when initially pre-ordering. I went back to look at images on vintage Trapjaw and it looks like it was red. I never had the toy back then and for some reason always figured it was black. Oh well.
