When it comes to third party It's and KOs, it's a deep and dark well. Lots of shady stuff going on.

I'm along for the ride. Haha. BTW, what's a "third party It"? I don't know that term yet.

1st party is hasbro or takara. 2nd party is someone who is licensed to release a Transformers character, like 3A, Imaginarium Art or Flame Toys. 3rd party are unlicensed but original figures, hence why they never use the actual name or use Autobot/Decepticon logos. they are done by very small companies in very low production numbers. KO companies, or "4th party" make nearly identical copies of Hasbro/Takara figures without permission.

    1st party = Hasbor
2nd party = You, me, and other end buyers/customers.

Everything else is either licensed 3rd party or unlicensed 3rd party. They exist between Has/Tak IP and us.

Yeah, that's generally how it goes. They're the "third party" in the transaction providing an alternative for one of the two parties (us) already in the situation.

yea i think that's right, actually. i learned it a different way. not saying the right way. but i believe as far as commerce goes the consumer is the "2nd party". thanks all for the clarification.

It gets confusing since since Hasbro won’t allow licensed 3rd party to make any transforming toys. So, all 3rd party “transformers” are unlicensed/ illegal.

true. but, interestingly, seems that combining is allowed since flame toys star saber and victory leo will become victory saber.

Don't forget that in one of the Tesla 2.0 slides, they hinted at their G1 Optimus Prime.

I'm sure FT would do a great job with it and all, but good god, does anybody need another Optimus Prime or more seeker molds. There are so many renders I'd rather see from FT. I'm only counting renders they've already shown us in some form or fashion, so Jazz, Mirage, Trailbreaker, Cliffjumper, Blitzwing, Blaster, Perceptor, Skullcruncher and Soundwave are out.

Let's count 'em off, in order of most wanted...

    1. Predaking (6 bots, if you think about it)
    2. Defensor (Ditto)
    3. Alpha Trion
    4. Elita-1
    5. Brainstorm
    6. Highbrow
    7. Scorponok
    8. Metroplex
    9. Trypticon
    10. Raiden (7 bots)
    11. Crosshairs
    12. Sureshot
    13. Triggerhappy
    14. Slugslinger
    15. Misfire
    16. Computron (6 bots)
    17. Abominus (6 bots)
    18. Ratbat
    19. Runamuck
    20. Runabout
    21. Hoist
    22. Windcharger
    23. Windblade
    24. Chromia
    25. Moonracer
    26. Firestar
    27. Darkwing
    28. Dreadwind
    29. Scourge
    30. Bruticus (6 bots, I'm pretty happy with Zeta, but twist my arm if they can improve it and do it on MP scale)

So by my count that's 61 bots I'd rather see them do, and I didn't even count the Autobot cassettes MMC supposedly has in the cooker. I get that 50 is a nice, magic number and all, but it's not like they'll release the first 49 before they get to him, so it's meaningless. And I promise you, everyone will ooh and ah just the same if you use 50 on a major dude like Metroplex or Scorponok.

Oh hell yeah. The more the merrier.
    Same with seekers...
Official Takara seekers: overpriced and quality not that great.
MT Seekers: Quality lacking in some areas. Not really worth the $150 price tag IMO.
Yes Model KO/retooled Takara: Very good quality but extremely hard to find now.

I hope Fans Toys isn't making an Optimus. That's the last thing anyone wants or needs and reeks of tone-deafness. It looked like a silouhette of MP-10, so hopefully, this is just them phasing MP-10 out of photographs.

Speak for yourself. They are in fact making it and many of us are looking forward to it. But hey, if you don't want it, that's cool. That just leaves more copies for the rest of us. Bring it on Prime, FT. :)

I just feel like there are at least 30 other projects they could be workingon other than this. If this comes out, I'd like it to be around 2030 or something. At least 5 years after MP-44.

yes, i saw that, too. i'm not sure if it was a tease for Optimus or just a CYA cause they were using an animation still from the movie. i may just add it with a "teased" note. fans toys has often said they want to do EVERY g1 character, and i'm starting to believe it!

i'll take any fans toys release right now! without them, i'd probably be out of the game! i pretty much went to a takara and fans toys only collection, so i'll buy whatever they give me!

It's certainly a tease, hence the question mark over the face.
