OK, so.. are Trailbreakers arms designed to turn out on the shoulder on the shoulder on the arm itself like you have? Because I tried getting mine to turn out there, and they would not go. so I stopped in fear of breaking anything.

aaaaand never mind. I got it. LOL

Thank you for the extensive photos of Trailbreaker. I love all of them.

It might have been funnier if you used his left leg to step on the camera in the last photo so it says, "TOY".

Do you mean where the arm can swing out independent of the upper shoulder (like on his right arm in the walking photo)? If so, yeah, you may need to cut some interior plastic as Takara inexplicably molded it in a way to effectively lock that joint (check out the MP-56 news thread). Or if you mean the left shoulder where that entire connector is rotated 90 degrees toward his back, that one does seem deliberate even though I'm not sure why they included it! Sorta helpful for certain things though.

Omg I wish I'd thought of that :lol  There may be a version 2 of this photo in the future haha! Thanks so much for the kind words :)

A couple of MP-45 Bumblebee questions and observations:

    1. Does anyone have a good paint colour match for the face? I have several copies of MP-45 (it's one of my favourite figures, and BB is my favourite G1 character), but my first, which seems to have the most defined face sculpt for some reason, had some paint rub on his nose. Thinking it might be dirt, I rubbed it and made it worse. :)

    bb-nose.jpg

I've ordered some Vallejo white-grey, and if that's no good I can just mix a little white and black to try and get a close match, but I was wondering if anyone has already discovered a close match for a touch-up?

    2. While using a magnifying glass to check the nose, I ended up inspecting the figure - admiring it, as I love the mould, although I know a lot of people hate it! - and noticed that there are small cracks in the clear plastic of the front door windows, where they fold on the heel:

    heel-crack.jpg

I checked two other figures that I've transformed regularly and they were the same. The one above is the worst, and although it looks bad in the photo, the cracks are barely visible to the naked eye. Has anyone else who's transformed MP-45 regularly noticed this?

Anyway, still love this figure. Here's a picture I meant to post at Christmas - I was sad to take this scene down.

For anyone wondering what MP-45 would look like with a silver face:

    bb-silver-face.jpg

I'm not a fan - it looks pretty terrible in hand. Isopropyl applied and waiting for some light grey paint to arrive:

I'm another of the minority who enjoys this figure and also likes to flip their MPs back and forth...
The face on my MP45 fine, it's his forehead on mine that's chipping.
Those cracks on the windows though... they are there on mine too! Like you said, hard to notice with the naked eye. Mine looks similar to yours.

He does seem to come in for more abuse than I feel he deserves. Yes, the backpack is a bit of a mess and the rear of the feet aren't ideal, but he's such a fun little figure to handle and transform, and he really nails the cartoon Bumblebee I loved as a kid:

    bb-face.jpg

Sorry to hear that! I think the pins are just a little too tight so that over a number of transformations, stress is put on that clear plastic. Fortunately it doesn't look as though it's going to lead to complete breakage - it certainly won't stop me transforming the figure, as it's a fun transformation and I love the alt mode.

I really hope MP Cliffjumper is officially confirmed soon - they're going to look great together.

Has there been any updates or hints or rumors at all? Every now and again I see pictures of that MP45 retool, but never any hints if it's a 3rd party retool or an official.

Bababobo has put it up for preorder, so there is hope that it's real and going to be confirmed soon - but there's a $0 deposit so who knows if they really know anything or not? It looks great to me, although it's bizarre that so many copies have been out there for so long. Third parties aren't shy about announcing figures years in advance, so surely a 3P would have claimed it by now if it wasn't official... Fingers crossed!

    Love that Christmas pic @ambitron!

I would recommend Tamiya AS-20 Insignia White for Bumblebee’s face. I think it’s the perfect off white / ultra light grey.

I just hope when they announce CJ they announce a Bee reissue. He was pretty badly put together between the paint job and the mix-match tolerances.
