MP-37 Artfire

Picked him up recently and I'm not completely sure how I feel about him yet. This is my first contact with this mold and I spent some time deciding between Artfire and Inferno. I think Inferno has the more successful vehicle mode since the detail or lack thereof is all lost in the sea of red. With Artfire any shortcomings are highlighted clearly by his deco. With the exception of the front cab section I think this vehicle mode in general doesn't live up to typical MP accuracy.

Transformation is lots of fun though, I love shoving the crane section into the body. Definitely one of the better MP transformations. Sadly, paint chipping is inevitable.

When standing normally his proportions are off. The Kingdom mold has much better proportions. The MP shoulders and arms need to be just a tiny bit beefier. However, he poses really well and looks spectacular in anything that isn't a basic A-stance.

The face sculpt is excellent and that deco in robot mode is the main reason I chose him over Inferno or Grapple. My eyes never know which part to look at first, there's so much going on.

The cherry on top for me is the "target-on" mode, which for me personally is the only way a targetmaster should ever be attached.

This variant is indeed top notch. I have him with my FT Dinobots, and the gold makes him Dino-Master Optimus Prime! In my head canon, anyway… although, I’m not a fan of his clear trailer.
