Yessssss! Excellent! I’ve got this figure right in front of me on my shelf, but somehow you manage to make him look ten times more awesome still in your picture.

It does seem like you didn’t push his crotch forward into place in this pic though

Lol stupid thing must have popped out again (I posed it days before taking the photo), that whole area is kinda loose on my copy! Now I won't be able to see anything else...time to redo the whole thing   In all seriousness thanks for the kind words buddy

MP Soundwave...


... I never quite shared in the praise this figure gets. This partly because mine came with some scratched in the gold of the chestdoor, but mostly because I hated moving his hips. Some silicone oil changed this, but still when FansToys announced their new version, I got that one: the option of making it more toy accurate appealed to me.

But in spite of my earlier sentiment, MP-13 absolutely stands the test of time. Just looking at him he looks marvellous.

 

Masterpiece Soundwave sort of got me “back into” the Masterpiece line. I was beyond disappointed with MP-09 Rodimus that I was pretty much “done”. Especially because then MP-10 was another Optimus (I was content with the OG Masterpiece Optimus) and THEN they did another Starscream (again, I was content with the show-colored MP-03) and then MP-12 was Sideswipe. While cool, I wouldn’t consider him a “priority character” lol.

But, man, they did such a great job with Soundwave AND his cassettes. Definitely some of my favorites in the line.

 

Sunstreaker: "Why couldn't I get paired with my brother, and not this old pile of spare parts?"

Ironhide: "You need to quit making so much noise and pay attention to your surroundings."

Sunstreaker: "Listen old-bot, your day was long ago! You should consider it a blessing to work with me. I'm going to have to probably carry you back to the Ark after this scout mission. I don't know why Prime paired me with you. Seriously I should be with Sideswipe."

Sunstreaker: "You have got to be one of the slowest Autobots I have ever seen! Not to mention all I've ever seen you do is stand next to Prime. Primus I can't wait for this joke of a day to be over!"

Ironhide: "Honestly kid you need to shut-up and turn your sensors on full. This isn't a game, if we get caught out here in this area it's gonna get dangerous, real quick."

"And quite frankly you don't have the experience to make it back to the Ark if the Decepticons attack us out here. THAT'S why Prime put us together."

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a sector to secure."

Sunstreaker: "WATCH THE PAINT OLD-BOT."

Thundercracker: "By the pit, I found two Transformers that argue more than Skywarp and Rumble!"
Ironhide: "This is what I was talkin about kid."

Thundercracker: "The old-bot is right, you should listen to him more kid! Not that it matters much anymore...."

Thundercracker: "Let's start this fight properly shall we?" *SNAP*

 

I don’t post that often but I feel compelled to sing the praises of Skids. I wouldn’t have been able to pick this character out of a lineup, and I’m pretty into the G1 nostalgic aesthetic. The minor players blur though, don’t they. Skids, Gears, Pipes oh my!

But that’s just it, this MP-53 is the best kind of joy. When you don’t see it coming. Major TT victory after a lot of finicky origami bullshit with the bone driest, matte-est plastic known to mankind lol. This Skids is a classic chunky shiny boy like they used to do. You love to see it.
