I guess I just read about the "second batch" and thought it might be something different.

This is upsetting. Also the fact that they never even acknowledged how poor the quality is is even more upsetting. I really love the design...anyways, can't wait for Starscream

Hey guys, I didn't want to start another thread for this so hopefully this is an ok place to ask but I have a question for you Masterpiece guys. I've recently gotten back into G1 and my love for Megatron has come back big time. I want a good representation of him on my shelf and was looking around online and as this sort of purchase is way out of my usual, I'm not sure what to trust. Ebay seems rife with kos. Is there a way to make sure its an authentic piece other than the higher price tag? What would a reasonable price for him be? Is mp 36 the definite best choice? It looks more comic/cartoon accurate to me so I'm assuming so. These are all pretty dumb questions but I never have bothered with masterpiece so its all new to me.. Any help is appreciated and if this is the wrong place to ask, let me know and I'll remove this. Thanks.

If you are not against purchasing KOs, my recommendation is to go with the Infinite Transformation KO of MP-36. The paint is better and is not prone to scratching that MP-36 has. It also comes with a filler piece to clean up the back.

I don't have a problem with it just so long as the quality is trustworthy. I have no experience to go on so hearing ko makes me leery unless someone can vouch for it.

Sunstreaker arrived from Japan yesterday. I bought it second hand but it's in great condition. An involved transformation, so I'm not sure I will do that often (not that I tend to anyway).

His brother is probably one of my favourite masterpieces, but it's interesting how much more work went into this, and the little extras included. No doubt that's why the RRP was so much more. Thankfully I got a pretty good deal on this.

I'm gonna spoilerify the following to save thread lag:

Having two options for the car was nice. I tend to associate him more with the 'super mode' but love there's a version identical to his brother.

I was initially a bit reticent about the large backpack, but in hand it works pretty well. It actually looks like a jetpack, which I think they might have been going for. I thought that was more Sideswipe's thing, not that I'm complaining.

Considering their alt mode I think it's brilliant how different they are in robot mode.

I just noticed I have his feet turned in a bit too much in the last picture. With that grin he looks a bit crazy.:p

I was thinking of selling my MP-10, but on eBay there are wildly different prices. One went for $100 and another went for $500. Are they knockoffs? What’s the difference?

It’s possible that Sunstreaker and Sideswipe’s original tech spec descriptions got switched, meaning Sunstreaker really was supposed to have the jetpack.

Ah, Dino-Master Optimus Prime and Ronald McSeeker, two of my favorites! I don’t think I’ll ever sell mine. They are so off-the-wall Hasbro they are great. Do you have Acid Storm as well? I don’t have a clever name for him, sadly.

Agree …and some of my favorite Masterpieces because they are so as you say “off-the-wall”….

I think I’ll call him ‘MARPAT Storm.’ Yeah, that’ll work.
