80's yoga class
I love those gatling guns.
Arcee just showed up (I know I'm late to the party). Expecting a shell former and I got one, but likely the nicest one I've seen.
My 2nd MP10 might come Tuesday.
Hyped to picture all versions of Optimus Prime with thier alt modes together.
Anyone know if MP4 comes packaged in bot or alt mode? I keep finding transformation vids of him from alt to bot (usually as MP1) but not in reverse cause he is so old.
I seem to remember that he came in bot mode in the box. I have the original boxes for mine but can't reach them right now for a 100% confirmation.
Glad that you like it.
FYI, you mistransformed the taillights. The red lights need to point up, like in this photo for example. If you zoom in, you can see it properly.
Gosh dang it I miss the game, the anticipation of a new figure, adding to the ranks, all that fun stuff. Thanks for staging off the cravings y’all!
Thanks. It was more complicated than I expected. And I really like it. Now I'm hoping for an Elita-1 and (i know it's a pipe dream but) Prime MP Arcee
Took a red paint pen to Arcee’s visor. Wasn’t a big fan of the clear plastic, so I went with a solid look. It’s more evocative of the ‘86 movie anyway.
Those STARCOM figures look cool next to Arcee and Hot Rod. I wish some company would make some modern STARCOM figures, vehicles and sets. And M.A.S.K., too.
Thanks. I found them over the years At various places including a toy fair and value village. They are close in scale. Mask and air raiders were a little big but would probably scale well with MP hound
That looks great!! I wish it was solid red from the factory. What kind of paint pen did you use?
DUDE!! You are getting better by the second!! Brilliant job on that image! Did you use a stand and then delete it later in PS? This one is a keeper for sure and may replace Thundercracker as my desktop background.
I still have a few of those Starcom sets from when I was a kid. They are awesome toys. They still work and my son loves to play with them. They've aged very well and they could probably just sell them as-is today. But I imagine the price would be much higher than back in the 80's.
I believe the brand is still called Painters? Anyway, I got it from Walmart a few years ago. It’s a standard red color. It has a matte finish, but I applied a few coats of Future to give it a gloss finish. I only painted the front of the visor, though. There’s a clear red outline from the unpainted border that pops in certain angles. Kind of gives the visor a backlit effect.
Oh my goodness it's an honor to be on your desktop! Thank you buddy!!
I did use stands in some of the intermediate images but not exactly to keep them in the positions you're seeing, but rather just to give it something to rest on so I could take a photo of the side. Then I just cut them out and rotated/scaled them into their final positions Total cheating!
Thank you for the info. I've seen people paint the back side of the translucent blue visor for MPM-9 Jazz which also has a cool effect. I'm wondering what that would look like on Arcee.
Whatever works! It is officially my new desktop background so it looks great to me.
I considered painting the back side of it, but liked the glossy finish on the outside. It complements the glossy pink and white nicely.
I keep forgetting to comment on these shots. Absolutely brilliant posing and the way you do the black background is incredible. I like how the reflection at the bottom is still there as well. And the effect parts are perfect. Great job! Your pictures remind me of the late great TCracker's pics which is high praise.
Here is one of TCracker's pics for reference (and so I can actually contribute something to this thread).
