Although I agree with the overall placement of Movie Convoy’s statement, I do find his view interesting. @Movie Convoy , are you suggesting that a Megatron Tank mode would be easier to be sold in North America by Hasbro because of the U.S. toy laws? Or is it a combination between Hasbro and price?

Unfortunately for some, the Diaclone/Micro Change lines are secondary releases in the main MP line. Mainly used to as recolors to bring in extra dough to support new designs. It’s an unpopular opinion around these here parts, but I do find the difference in philosophies fascinating.

 

I'm suggesting that Megatron figures that transform into tanks are easier to sell in North America than Megatron figures that transform into realistic firearm replicas due to western laws prohibiting the sale of realistic firearm replicas.

 

Yeah, I get it. Hasbro N.A. will have to broker some deal if they want to make an exclusive Megatron MP that isn’t a gun, but we all know that that won’t be the direction TT and Hasbro will go in.

Which is why I'm fine with my Hasbro Asia MP-10 as my MP G1 Optimus Prime and using CW Leader Megatron as my corresponding Masterpiece G1 Megatron.

I’ve thought about purchasing a custom mp Megs sword, especially for my mp-36+, many times but haven’t went all in yet. Is the one in your photos one of the models from shapeways that you’ve painted yourself, or from somewhere else?

 

With current MP prices, we might need a 6 figure salary to keep up  

but as I would say... why have six when I can get twelve for double the price?  

 

Thanks so much brothers! @Samue1 it's actually a Takara G1 sword (not sure which edition, if there are multiple) believe it or not. It's only in my possession for a short time as I'm acting as a shipping proxy for a friend (not sure if they want mentioned or not), who was kind enough to let me mess with it for a bit before sending it on! Obviously it's not to scale according to the original toy, but it still feels surprisingly large relative to MP-36!
