Wow @Dean ML, what an excellent photo adaptation of among my very favorite scenes from The Transformers.

What toyline is that Tyrannosaur skeleton from? Does the same manufacturer make other dinosaurs as well? As a child I had some modular (break apart at the joints, rebuild them mixed and matched ala Construx) Dinosaur skeletons that were among my all time favorite toys.

High praise from you, Goldimus! Much appreciated, brother. Not sure exactly the name of the Tyranno toy, but my son got it for Christmas and it's one of those Jurassic World toys that comes disassembled and you have to dig it out of a brick of chalk (just like a real paleontologist! haha) and put it together. I'm not sure if there are others in this line or not. It's really cool for what it is, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for something that's actually accurate and high end.

Given that they just rereleased it 3 months ago, I would say a new soundwave is quite a ways off. So I would get it now. (And in fact I just did) He’s a good price on Amazon.jp right now. About $95 shipped to the US.

Thanks!!! Sunstreaker is definitely the most fun TF to pose, IMO! Such a photogenic boi too!

Recently got MP-06 Bluestreak on eBay for 25$ MIB - He's a great figure! I'm not wild about the anime redeco, so the original is great. I can't believe he's 6 years old! (Aside from the layer of dust on him.) First experience with the mold, and it's a goodie!

    Definitely fits his personality!
The Datsun mold was definitely a step up for Hasui. Those knees and ankles! Only thing that's really missing would be a butterfly hinge for the shoulders but otherwise it's aged fairly well. I'm partial to the 1st Bluestreak deco too.

Loving seeing you having fun with Sunstreaker and really putting him through his paces, @Render ! So many excellent poses! He's one of those figures that just feels alive.

@chchchch , really appreciate you giving some love to some figures that often don't get enough of it! Great poses and your grids always give me a rush no matter how many times I see 'em! In fact you're really giving me the itch to take my coneheads off the shelf...

Awesome stuff @Render, you're gonna be dangerous when you get that photo light box!!

Thanks man, so much appreciated, it's been fun messing with the older molds after the deluge of new ones this year. And I almost wrote off the Coneheads' poseability as non-existent until a post of yours a few months ago that made them look as articulated as anybody...hope you get yours in front of a lens again pretty soon :D

Are you using a phone with HDR? If so might try turning it off.

Edit: I love the shot and pose. Captures his arrogance.

Thanks so much on both counts!!! I am indeed using my phone, I'll check if there's HDR and if I have it turned on tomorrow, at least something to try! :thumb

A bit of Datsun fun while I wait for MP-19+ to make his way to me.

Hound made it through just in time for CNY.

I'll be honest, my initial in-hand impressions were not good. It feels like a super cheap plastic toy car in alt mode. I mean, I know it is a plastic toy car, but it's far from cheap. The plastic feels very brittle and I was extremely concerned about breaking something when transforming it, even when taking great care. It also feels pretty flimsy in bot mode, especially when compared to Willis, which is far more substantial. That's not just because of the die cast, but because the plastic quality is better on the latter. However, when it comes to aesthetics MP-47 annihilates Willis. I don't even really mind the floating head armature. The transformation is also quite neat, especially the way it incorporates the accessories, although I did find it tricky to close the feet up with the tyre/gun in them.

    IMG_20200123_083130474.jpg

I need to get some better backdrops/dioramas, or even a light-box at some point. I took this one quickly as I was leaving for work.

Out of interest, what methods do people use when isolating figures in Photoshop? I've had mixed results with the auto-select tool and refine edges, while the pen tool is a lot of work even if it does provide better results. Any thoughts/tips appreciated.

Oh, I'm also loving the new scale of the included Spike figure. I would definitely be interested in an accessory pack containing Spike, Sparkplug, Carly, Chip, Dr. Arkeville, adult Spike and Daniel etc. They just scale so much better with the robot modes than those tiny little things we got with the older MP figures.

USE he brand new “object selection tool” in the most recent update of photoshop. It is now an automatic action.
