That really depends on a few things... How much "extra" are you talking? Who are your favorite characters? How much do you like complex transformations?

If you're talking a large chunk of change, like $400+, you would do well to spend it all on MP-44. He is absolutely fantastic and looks just like Prime from the cartoon. MP-36 is another can't miss buy. He's about $200 or so, but again, looks just like Megatron from the 80s show! Well, aside from his wonky backpack... But really, most of the newer stuff is great, most of the older stuff is too, so it's all down to price and preference.

Yeah, I thought about that one. But honestly, I prefer the Convoy versions over that one.

That depends on whether you want a toy or toon deco... I'm all in for the toon.

Don't really get the hate for her spider-mode. One look at her bot-mode and you would figure it was impossible to get something even marginally resembling a spider without some parts-forming.

Agreed, and particularly at this tiny scale...the attitude seems to be if they can't do it "perfectly," they shouldn't do it at all...I don't understand that at all, myself.

I finally got Optimus Prime! My first REAL G1 Prime ever (not counting the MP-10 Shattered Glass version). My Masterpiece Transformers collection feels complete now, even without the multitude of MPs I don’t have yet (obviously, I’m still collecting!)

Just saying, it feels amazing to have Prime and Megatron together now, as well as Optimus Primal and BW Megatron. Couldn’t be happier right now!

I don't hate it, I just find it frustrating to pose and handle and a little badly thought out. There's actually very little that's clever about it, you just roll her up and pull a couple of covers over some of the robot parts... and you can't tell, it's like some hiding behind a curtian with their feet poking out. Personally I think they could have been better, but this is not really a discussion for this thread I guess.

Congrats, @Render, and great photo set! 44 is definitely my all-time favorite figure. I can hardly even believe he's real and I get to own him - it's a dream come true!

Was just admiring him, Bumblebee v2, Bluestreak+, Wheeljack+, Ironhide, and Tracks in alt mode this morning. Whatta line up!

Thanks! MP-44’s amazing, aside from a few weird tolerances, but yeah, he’s a dream come true! You always take great photos!

If you have none, I, personally, highly recommend MP-?? Soundwave. (If you can get a Hasbro version, it saves you having to track down the tapes). It’s not the most modern or toon-centric MP but he’s still a great figure and with his army, I’m hard pressed to bump him out of my top MP slot.

If you’re an Inferno fan, MP Inferno is amazing. He didn’t come with any QC issues, he’s SUPER solid in both modes, his transformation is pretty clever and fun, he’s not too expensive, and is definitely one of my top favorite MPs and I’m not really a big Inferno fan to he honest! VERY well made figure IMO.

Too bad Ratbat is only with Soundblaster. eBay and some stores still sell the KO Ratbat figures, though. The repaint cassette pack is too expensive for what it is.

I only got the MP goat version recently because of a pricing snafu (in my favor) at a local place. There's no gray / clear version of Ratbat, though, and no KO version I'm aware of. I've seen a clear MP Ratbat prototype on eBay but the price is absurd.

Agree that Soundwave is a good recommendation. He was recently re-issued but only comes with Laserbeak. The older versions with 5 cassettes may be hard to track down, especially in new condition.

I don't own many MP figures as my son will likely break something (especially the panelformers). We have the more simpler ones:

Soundwave: Goat version has clear / gold / gray deco, including the 5 cassettes; easier to track down than the 5 cassette regular version.

Grimlock: Have the re-issue version with all the extra accessories. Only gripe is that some joints are way too loose (I took apart those joints and reinforced with electrical tape).

Shockwave: Got the + version for the better color scheme.

MP21 Bumblebee: Ordered extra battle mask. The Spike figure sucks, though.

Inferno (and my preference for the mold: Grapple) are also a great option if you have extra MP budget. First really wow factor for me with an MP, the way the ladder (or crane) folds into the bot mode and creates a very nicely detailed (toon or toy) bot mode is just next level ... (for the time at least?).
