Cheers bud. It's crazy how well the mp10 mould captures the G1 toy look with only a bit of work. Makes me appreciate it alot more, even if it is still quite archaic by mp44 standards. Which is fitting in his new role!

Nice setup. Curious I've noticed some copies of mp44 with exposed ratchets on the upper knee and some not in the same standing pose. For the life of me I cant have optimus in this standing pose without having his ratchets exposed. If I ratchet them up so no ratchet is exposed the leg then looks like a double jointed knee and bends slightly forward. Am I doing something wrong here or is there a variance on the knee area bc of the issues in that area? I did fix both my knees, but even before they broke I couldn't get them like your copy is.

I've added pictures for more clarity.

The blue knee pads are on their own hinge and move up and down to accommodate knee articulation. You can ratchet the knees into whatever pose you want then manipulate the knee pads separately

I've tried that and it seems they wont budge any higher. I guess I'll try again but they feel like they're going to break. I will say mp44 is highly durable. I was pressing and bending while fixing the knees and I'm shocked nothing broke or was damaged

I can also confirm that the knee pads are on their own joint thingy. They only move freely when the knees are not bent. I don’t know exactly how many ratchet clicks before they don’t move freely.

As others have said those knee caps move independently. Just move them around as you need.

I think that is the issue. When I don't have the legs bent and there is no ratchets exposed the knee covers are all the way at the top, but the issue then is the leg is bent forward. It looks like I have a double jointed knee cap.

Apologies, I didn't mean to derail this thread in anyway. I"ll check it out when I get home.

I don't see the question as a derailment.

    image.jpeg
This is the leg blown apart. You can see the blue kneecap that's on two hinges. The white portion is the upper knee and the blue belongs in the blue section.

The kneecap situation is a follows:
    White Section
Zero clicks or resting position will no move the kneecap. Clicks one through five will move the kneecap.

At the activation of the blue section, the kneecap is moved down with the lower leg. Clicks one and two will still move the kneecap both ways. Click three, four, and five will not allow the kneecap to move.

Appreciate the details. When redid both broken knees I saw how those parts work. I'm guessing some glue spilled out and made the sliding mechanism tighter. In any event I "played" with him and got him to loosen up.

Appreciate all the support everyone. Not the best picture. Didny have time to get my real camera out and do some edits.

Well, with Bee delayed two months, now seems like a good time for me to take a break. Taking a page out of @Sam ’s book. Without his screenshot posts and Chris’s digis and the excitement/hype building, there’s just too much negativity on the boards. I’ll still read the front page and the g1 appreciation thread so I’ll see any major updates, but beyond that it’s just not good for one’s mental health. So temporary farewell!
