Beast Wars MP 32 Optimus Primal
Hack and Slash!
I've been on a bit of a kick with MP-22 Ultra Magnus. I have the original and I'm aware of a reissue in recent years. I can't seem to find a clear answer on this, but are there any actual differences between the original and reissue? I saw in Takara stock photos that the legs contained more red and the gun was a lighter gray, but have not seen anything beyond that to confirm if those changes were applied to the actual release. While I'm on the subject of MP-22, a toy accurate deco would've been pretty sweet.
The reissue that came out around the same time as MP-28 (so early 2015) had whiter faces.
The more recent reissue (2017? maybe) went back to a silver face.
Don’t know if there was any difference in the guns, but the original Takara prototype used in promo shots (with the lighter gun and red shins) was never released as a deco. It was changed before the first 2014 release.
Thanks. Wonder if the repaint ship has sailed for a toy-inspired deco of this figure.
With this talk of magnus, I wonder if there could be a new release as MP-44 for a base or a truck looking like MP-44's. Not sure if anyone cares, but I always thought as Prime and Magnus had the same truck mode.
Ultra Magnus 2.0?
That would be awesome. Only problem making me hold back from the OG was the lack of a waist swivel.
He was an impressively designed figure considering the budget and the effort of engineering. I believe an update would not only resemble MP-44's cab design, but also feature improved joint articulation, waist swivel and body armor.
It would be wild since there's a Starscream head to masquerade as Prime, maybe Prime can replace the UM cab and pretend to be the main body in the armor.
Especially since Prime's new truck bed is lower, this should work out.
Does this mean...we could have an Ultra Magnus with Starscream’s head?
You mean like this?
Full credit to @chchchch for this digibash (and credit to me for coming up with the idea )
Much yes. Many wow.
You were right!! It was all worth it! This idea was downright prophetic!
His shadow has broken free!
I’m glad that @BrutiKing and I were able to set you two up to present all of us with a glimpse of a great idea.
Reminds me of the story The Shadow by Hans Christian Anderson.
