It's a GLORIOUS toy! I must admit ever since I broke the little piece on his waist, he's no longer been perfect in my mind and made it easier to edge him towards being sold, knowing I could one day replace him with a perfect copy - always wanted to see if the reissue MP-36 fixed any of the original's issues.

But mainly, I don't collect MP any more and in order to be able to continue buying G1 and new Diaclone, I needed to raise some toy budget.

    Also roof repairs.

I much preferred having the money from MP-11T and MP-11SW at the time I sold them (and would even now hehe). MPs can be a great way to raise some fast cash when needed, and the beauty of them is they can generally be repurchased easily enough.

@Maz from what I’ve read the 36 reissue did have improved paint and some tighter joints, so down the line you’d probably be better with that reissue or maybe even a third release, if you do do repurchase him at any point.

Absolutely what I was hoping for, in terms of mould improvements and my plan for the future. Sunstreaker is also on that future repurchase list.

So great seeing your setup and poses! So the Tamashii stands' pegs are much sturdier? Do they have a metal pin in there or something to reinforce them? That jumping Grapple pose is pure balls! I'm too chicken to display Ironhide flying now (though I might give it another shot once Bluestreak+ is in hand).

Maz, pretty much everything is as tight or tighter on my Megatron reissue vs my 1st release except for the chest piece. It's not that it slips off too easily, but it rotates out of place if nudged. No big bother. Biggest thing was the tighter right arm swivel and backpack unit. Still my favorite figure ever, but I'm hoping MP-44 knocks him off the top of the mountain! Wouldn't mind a new Starscream and Soundwave in that same hyper articulated, flight stand compatible, fully painted, gimmick laden, anime homage league, too ;)

Great to hear! Yeah an updated Starscream would be one I'd cast an eye over, that and Mirage.

Thanks man! Much tighter all around, in particular on his left arm, that little flap that becomes the sight - that's super loose on my original by now (and always was a little). I'm not sure if it's just the thick layer of chrome, but it barely budges on 36+.

Almost makes me want to wait for a third release before picking up my second copy of the regular 36, just in case that's even tighter than the 2nd one. The chrome is so damn solid, too. That said, I have yet to transform 36+.

I have yet to transform 36+ because I’m afraid of wrecking the chrome. But others have done it without issues as far as I know so I’m planning to do it...... eventually.

Yup, people having done it with no problem makes me feel even more confident in the chrome holding up with regular posing. In no rush to transform him at all, but his gun barrel being unpainted is already promising for minimising paint wear :thumb

    Glad you enjoyed that. :D

Perhaps he’ll drift for awhile and be reformatted into MP Glavatron. ;)

You’ve got some great extension on some of those flight stands. A few members here have suggested them as well and they’re a great substitue for the now sold-out Takara stand.

@Maz , I wish you luck in your new direction, or should I say old new direction. I can imagine the rooftops in Iceland being constantly battered by the ever-changing weather. I am also glad to hear mention of Sunstreaker after his windshield cracked on you. I now have 3 Grapples and the second Grapple I bought was such a bad copy with cracked paint and loose joints, I bought a third copy. In that instance, I could really feel your pain.

Here’s to MP Mirage being everything we all want.

A few quick snaps of some of my favorites, in particular Megatron, Shockwave+, Sunstreaker, and Inferno.

If you like the act 4 stands I’d strongly recommend the act 5’s. The lower arm is much sturdier and ratchets at the base. I use them for my mpm’s and they have the expansion poles as well.

I was looking at the Act 5 stands for a better base support. Nice to hear it seems improved upon. Especially seeing Grapple hoisted up on a stand. Speaking of Hoist...
