May not be a rubber duck, but Megatron's happy about his penguin. Courtesy of @mcart .

I am interested in the both of them, but which one should I buy first?
Note: I will buying the toy house Factory Soundwave, it's on par with the original.

    Soundwave

    Pros:
    Comes with Laserbeak
One of the best looking Masterpieces figures, and resembles the animation model well
    Excellent articulation
    Simple yet satisfying transformation
    Nice looking alt mode
    Tape deck function
    Functionality with other cassettes
    Clever use of hinding items
Poseability, can allow for cool poses
    References the original toy

    Cons:
Kibble in alt mode, notably the back
    Pointless accessories
Hard to find as of 2019, you're better off getting the KOs
Is a bit outdated compared to the more recent MP figures
    3rd party won't do much

    Megatron

    Pros:
Articulation is better than most figures, even Soundwave
    Lots of accessories
Lots of play features and functions
Looks exactly like the cartoon, more so than Soundwave
    Cool looking gun alt mode
One of the best robot modes
More up to date with the recent masterpiece style
One of the gun pieces doubles as a stand that allows for airborne poses
3rd party greatly improves the figure
    Definitive MP Megatron
    Multiple faces
    Loads of playtime
Lots of interesting poses to pull off, and goes well with other figures, the stiff ratchet joints allow for this
    Extremely detailed
Many functions that references the toy

    Cons:
Complicated transformation, which can be longer then 10 minutes
The backside is horrible, but can be ignored.
    Panel lines in alt mode
    Extremely expensive
No where to put some of the accessories
The orange barrel plug, in some copies of the figure
    Possibly of paint chipping

    Which one?
Megatron has both pros and cons, but that makes him more interesting as a figure.
Soundwave is fun as a standalone figure, however you won't see his maximum potential without the other cassettes.

Hey guys, I'm going to sell my complete boxed 1st release MP-36 Masterpiece Megatron, but it has a broken part on the waist kibble that is not visible in gun mode or in robot mode, it's just there and affects nothing. Also there are scratches on the back of the legs where the stock has been slid on and off. What would you folks say is a fair price?
    Many thanks in advance!

    All the best
    Maz

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask, but does anyone know what the MSRP of the original MP-01 Optimus was? I wasn't a collector at the time and can't find anything on what it went for upon release. Thanks!

From what I've found it was between 50 and 60 bucks (at least the American version).

    (god they've gotten pricey...but beautiful...)

Why yes, yes they have. There's a local comic book shop that has a boxed one and they want $500 for the thing. It's not even sealed!

This is the price I paid for MP-04 back in 2009 when I finally got around to buying an MP-01 with a trailer because I didn’t pick up the Justitoys trailer or the Fans Toys trailer.

I bought the Hasbro Primes for $50 so I’m guessing MP-01 was about $100 upon release.

    SOS fellow transfans.

I was planing on displaying MP-28 Hotrodimus with his visor for some MP appreciation poses when the efing thing broke in the middle. It seems that the metalframe with the "teeth (left side)" which. was mean to secure it also stressed out the plastic causing it to break in the middle. I don't think using superglue would be helpful.

    Options would be:

    1. Get a K.O. for parts (Last option)
    2. Anyone know where to buy just the visor? Checked ebay already and can't find one.
    3. Anyone selling their MP-28 for parts?

    Thanks in advance.

Nice shot! Is his neck plate extended all the way? Kinda looks like his head is sunken in and it's a feature that's commonly missed (the neck plate locking into place and his neck extending).

Megatron, no question. He's in another league from Soundwave.

A bit backed up here but still in love with these figures! Ironhide and Wheeljack+ are on my desk today and Bluestreak+, MP-44, 45, and 47 are all on the horizon! Blackarachnia's POs should go live this week, right? So hopefully Hound's will follow in a month or so!

Thank you. Neck plate is not fully extended but the base of the neck is fully attatched to its peg. That's the way I use to display him.
