I’ve never posed MP-29 and MP-29+ with the classic #5, but darn near every other shockwave I have that can strike a pose has, even my Kre-O battle Changer. Honestly not sure why I haven’t.

So more old school love - these were taken December 30, 2003 - over 15 years ago! Some MP-1 love:

Even though I am a huge chug collector I really love masterpiece mainly because there’s so many options for quite a lot of characters letting people build whatever collection they want

So that’s what the cardboard trailer looks like. I never but mine together.

What do you guys say about Smokescreen? Is he cartoon accurate enough aside from the logos and is he different enough from Prowl and Bluestreal to warrant a purchase? Thoughts? Thinking of getting him as another deskbot. I know there might be a plus one the horizon, but it’s too early to know when still.

Wow, @TCracker , that one's a real Masterpiece! Which is really saying something considering your incredible work ;)  You are an Artiste!

@Agent 539 , those shots are amazing. They bring back the feels of being a kid and drooling over TF product shots in catalogs, the ones with awesome desert diorama backdrops I always I wished I had. Amazing.

Love MP Smokescreen. For a cartoon guy like me, I'm so pleased with MP-19 that I'd be fine if he never got a + edition because he's already so show accurate, livery aside. He looks like a very different character from the other Datsuns thanks to his fun deco, the racing molding on his chest/car nose, spoiler/feet, new cannons, and new rifle. Only complaint about mine is that he doesn't hold his rifle very well. I think that was a widespread issue. Watch the s2 episode The Gambler to up your enthusiasm for the character ;)

Bought. Is it difficult to set his chest in after going into car mode? Seems like it can’t fully close. Is it a widespread issue?

He would definitely get a full paint job, the black would be more like the dark charcoal of Inferno. I don't even think the "white" on car mode would be white like on the original release

His chest is like the other Datsuns, tabbing very tightly into the ab piece but takes a bit of force to do it. I remember when Prowl was released I and many other fans thought that he was faulty, that his chest wouldn't lock and tabbing in the backpack pulled the chest up and out of place. That was until someone figured it out and shared how to do it. What a revelation that was! Can't believe it was six years ago!

Don't get me wrong, I would definitely take a Smokescreen+! ;)  You're right, there's still room to make him more cartoon accurate, but it's not as necessary as it was for guys like Red Alert, Wheeljack, and Bluestreak. Now that Bluestreak+ has a new head, faces, and effects, I'd hope for the same on a Smokescreen+, especially a smoke effect!

Oh could you show me the post that teaches you how to tab it in?

MP-19 would definitely be a great character to add to your collection. An anime + edition release of Smokescreen is inevitable. Just be patient and play the long game. Why? If you already have + editions of carbots a MP-19+ will aesthetically fit in better and will probably come with cool accessories (i.e. smoke effect, laser effects, slot machine, etc.) and as Dean ML mentioned, TT will hopefully have fixed the rifle not holding in Smokescreen's hand very well. If you still prefer the original MP-19 waiting would still be a good option as + edition of characters usually result in past releases being discounted by on-line retailers and/or people putting them up for sale on Ebay.
Evidence to support this claim would be to compare the current price of MP-29 Shockwave versus MP-29+ or MP-20 Wheeljack versus MP-20+.

I got you fam. Didn't bother looking for a post, but snapped these of my Prowl+. I'm pointing out the slot with a pencil in the first shot...

This shot shows the ab piece tabbed in. Rock solid. Just have to pull the ab piece a bit forward to get it line up and then push down on the chest with some force.

Hope this helps and increases your appreciation for this awesome mold!

Thanks a bunch. If you transform it back and forth frequently, will that tab break off eventually from frequent force?

I've transformed my Datsuns many many times over the years with no breakage or stress marks. Haven't seen anyone else report breakage on that tab either, so you are good to go, bro ;)
