Wishful thinking ?
As evidenced in Maz's stunning photography, DM is an awesome deco of a great figure. I honesty wasn't interested in him at all when he was announced, then I caved when I saw some early in hand shots. Once I got him he quickly became one of my favourite MPs.
I love Ultra Magnus because of his character and because the original toy was of special significance to me, but Delta Magnus is the best version of this mould. The colours on him are fantastic. I think all the silver just gives the figure a more sophisticated look and his alt mode feels more real world to me than UM.
Anyway, I'm a big fan of this guy. I even picked up a second copy when NY had him on super cheap for their November sale. If you're willing to be patient, I'm sure you can find a deal on him if the price is too much of a deterrent.
Happy New Year to you all....
All Hail Megatron.
Happy New Year TB! Great to see you around.
I got my first Masterpiece yesterday (danke Mandarake for the deal which made me finally take the plunge) in Road Rage. She's alright. I definitely don't like the way he neck joint was done, but other than that I think she's fine. Plus it doesn't hurt tha I got her for $25.
Okay, I may not 'appreciate' some of the figures shown, but damn, that is a nicely composed display.
Respect to you!
Okay, after all the great input on which MP figure to get next, I finally decided and ordered Ratchet this morning.
I was going to go with Ironhide because I've handled it once before and was impressed with the colors, but I have more of a connection with the character of Ratchet, so I went with the one I actually liked better as a character.
I kind of counted Inferno out only because my Autobot shelf is getting pretty full and I'd prefer to get Artfire to experience the mold (plus it has the Targetmaster).
Next will be Loud Pedal, followed by Artfire.
Nice spread Maz.
Glad you finally went Primal Rice. He is a fantastic figure. Not a bad way to end 2016.
I still function....
I've recently begun re-collecting the MP line after a crazy year - and holy hell. Being able to pick them up without the stress of keeping up with preorders, or over-analyzing things as progress posts/images pop up has really made this second round of it absolutely amazing!
Even though I still need a good number, the ones I've got are all homeruns to me.
Happy New Year tfw!
Happy and safe New years everyone.
Soundwave is definitely one of the best Masterpiece figures I've ever handled. He is also the only figure besides bumblebee that holds his gun perfectly. My only gripe is that buzzsaw's wing on the booster broke off... A little super glue should fix that though.
What devastator is this? Toy world? Looks like it fits in with MP perfectly.
Yup Toyworld Constructor modified with green thighs and G1 cartoon style head. Toyworld are releasing pretty much exactly the same as a v2 soon.
After being so happy to have replaced both ankles on my Hasbro MP-9, raved about it on here, and then received a Takara MP-9 with seemingly no issues...the left knee on my Hasbro MP-9 broke yesterday. I'll first of all try to replace it with an authentic MP-9 Hasbro knee, but if that fails then I guess it's time for dem reproz.
I refuse to be discouraged, I love this toy so much I'll keep fixing it until there are no parts left in the universe for it.
All the best
Argh, that bites! I've been lucky, my Hasbro Rodimus has no broken parts, but I swapped out his knees for the die cast replacements when I did MP-9B's knees. I unhesitatingly recommend them, they look great from behind and are nearly invisible from the front until he starts his deep knee bends.
If you'd prefer to keep yours original though I could look for the knees from mine and mail them to you. They weren't broken, I swapped them preemptively.
You beautiful human being, I'd be most grateful for those knees! I did install the die cast ones on an MP9 for someone else and the screw didn't go allllll the way in, so I'm reluctant to go that way again. I'm in Iceland, is that somewhere you're willing to ship?
All the best
Not a problem, I like reading your articles, they're like bedtime stories for nerds. And you gave me an excuse to get my ladder out of the snowdrift on my balcony. As soon as it's not freezing to touch I'll poke around my attic for Rodimus' box.
