what a great day. Friday I found an Amazon listing for MP 16.....the only official release missing from my Sunbow-centric MP collection. Been sweating all week wondering if it would be legitimate or a knockoff. Arrived this evening. 100% LEGIT.

 

Alt mode comparison shots of MP-14 Red Alert and MP-14+ Red Alert (Anime Colour). For me, the original alt mode colours are definitely better. I prefer the bright white, the Lamborghini logo and car model text on the rear. Could be a different story in bot mode though!

 

My favorite cassette character has always been Ratbat from the G1 comics— fuel auditor turned Decepticon leader  . In fact, the first time I broke my "no minor-character repaints" rule was when I bought Soundblaster, just so I could have MP Ratbat.

As with MP Buzzsaw & Laserbeak, MP Ratbat's back-mounted weapons transform into part of the cassette mode, which I think is ingenius.

Here are a few pictures I've got on my phone with Ratbat in different poses (the one on the music stand was meant as a parody of how people photograph their musical instruments for Instagram, but that's a different story). I especially like Ratbat hanging upside down:

Would buy it in a heartbeat if he didn't have that dumb toon logo...otherwise look sweet though, everything red alert should be.

I may wait for a KO, do OTL's mod, and add a nice, standard bot logo.

Wow, he's really, really, grey.

 

Ugh, I want this figure so bad, but not having matching translucent blue hands and the fact that I already own four different Seekers makes this a hard jump to make. But he looks so good!

 

Me neither, but screenshots on Google show him being pretty much grey and not white. It's not consistent though.

I'm holding my hopes for a toy accurate Tracks. I don't like the toon-face and tiny pistol he packs.

HA! Ratbat hanging upside down is awesome! I cant believe I never thought of that/ have seen it before. I may be stealing that pose...

I'm seeing a lotta pics of MP-14+. But for my money, ya just can't beat the original MP-14 - unless maybe you gave him the white thighs. Which sounds really weird to type about a robot.

Yeah, definitely a bit dull. But although I'm not a cartoon guy, I do kind of prefer the grey colors on him. That said, I will do some customising on the one I ordered: give him his proper red tighs and some other toy inspirations and if possible real life details. Just to get a hybrid of what I like best.

 

Nice picture, don't mean to rain on your parade but you forgot to transform the side bits on the calves on all the lambor figures in your pics!

 

Has anyone ordering MP-14+ from TFS not so express heard anything...when they'll be getting their stock in??
