Kathleen Kennedy is a nuisance.

 

My buddy mentioned to me that Filoni's description was nothing short of poetry. Watched it earlier and yes, it's exactly that. Kennedy definitely sounded like a shitbag that whole episode. She clearly doesn't give two shits about Star Wars, and couldn't be more undeserving of her position. I want that woman to go away or be put in a torture basement somewhere.

Hot Toys just revealed their new Rex 1/6th scale figure, and they used Temuera's face for him. Head onto the Clone Wars thread for full images, but maybe this is a sign they're going to have him in S2 as Rex and/or Boba.

They used Temeura’s likeness for Rex before, both by Hasbro and Sideshow. It has nothing to do with him being in Mandalorian if he is.

I’m having doubts now that they’ll do Maul or Ahsoka. I feel like they just did Rex as an “easy” retool of their existing Clone buck.

 

Feel like they love doing Maul so I bet we see one. Ahsoka we might have to wait until her appearance in Mandalorian and then release her in that line.

 

I hope that's not the case, I like her S7 design.

Though I'm obviously not opposed to a Mando Ahsoka, whatever she may look like, I just want the three main character from the final arc in the same era. Clone Captain Rex, robot legs Maul, and... Mandalorian casual-wear Ahsoka. (all her outfits look kinda strange, when you think about it. Not quite Jedi attire, not quite combat gear)

 

Rebels Ahsoka is actually my fave design of hers and I ain't ever getting anything from that in 1/6 scale so like whatever I guess. Wonder if they'll do ARC Troopers.

 

If Mando is after ROTJ then why would Maul be in it?

Is Season 2 going to be a flashback? How the hell is Bo-Katan still running around. Boba I can see escaping the Sarlacc Pit but not her being I guess that old.

 

It's only 9-10 years between her Rebels appearance and Mandalorian.

 

At this point I’d like to consider this show in the slot that Resistance occupied.

 

She'd be max 50 as of Mandalorian.

I just love how Filoni is doing more to unite and maintain continuity across the different series than Kennedy ever did.

 

I agree with that except I think it’s Favreau pulling the strings here. He is just smart enough to pull the Filoni string and Kennedy’s ego is obviously too big to understand that.

Well I guess. I assumed Bo-Katan was in her 30’s plus 20 years to ANH and plus however many more to ROTJ and then afterwards. 5-60’s it’s just crazy how old Obi-Wan is in ANH it’s weird to think she is Katee Sackhoff doesn’t look right to me.

 

I'll wait till they show how she looks in costume and with a wig probably. Plus she was the voice actress for the character anyway so she will sound right for the part and she will know how Bo-Katan should act, so we won't see another actress reinterpret the character.

Wouldn't be surprised we are seeing strong female characters like this just to appease Kathleen Kennedy. But I'd rather they use pre-existing characters than trying to invent ones, as if that happened, you see Kennedy trying to have her say as to how they should be. As long as Filoni and Favreau are on it they should be written well and make sense in the story so it doesn't matter. I don't mind characters like these as long as they are written and acted well.
Better that than another Mary Sue type character.

 

Agreed. I am just wondering if this is a flash-back season since Deathwatch rescued Mando and Boba is alive. It could start to reconcile the different takes on Mandalorians, over time.

I don’t have an issue with strong female leads and I think the concept of “Mary Sue” is a bunch of bullshit, myself. Female inclusion into the heroes and villains is just a natural reflection of our culture and demographics. Badly written stories are what they are and I don’t think gender really comes into play. As long as Favreau and Filoni (really Filoni) is coordinating the story we’re in good shape. It’s obviously what the whole post-George era needs, consistency and cohesion.
