hello everybody, thought id share one of my summer projects here, i saw the weijiang bumblebee, mpm bumblebee, the ST studio bumblebee mentioned in a previous thread, and the Custom Dino transformer so i thought id tr my hand at a more perfect bumblebee. i am using a ko os dotm bumblebee to do this as it is closer to model car kits and i will be able to make a v2 from a model car to improve his details.

first obvious mod is the front bumper, i cut down the inner sides of the bumper halves and added a lego track to slide them closer than the original chest config, i also cut out about a quarter inch from his shoulder assembly so that in car mode they sit at the same location, but in robot mode dont swing out but up, giving him more accurate shoulders.also added the bit of car that hangs over his shoulder to that joint and like the mpm and made it swing towards the arm to hide it a little better and fit closer
    upload_2017-8-2_21-7-16.png
then i added a pin on the lower peg for the shoulder armor so they can slide outwards, giving his arms a larger beefier look ill add parts to this to make it fill out without a gap and look closer to the cgi model, but its really a proof of concept right now.
    IMG_4256.JPG IMG_4257.JPG

and here it is folded up to car mode, some tolerances and spacing need to be improved, but so far it works
also forgot to picture, but his middle hood folds back, rotates 180 and then folds back down to be similar hiding the hood like the mpm, and the black stripes on his hood rotate and hold onto his back to hide them, they kind of give him spiky shoulders so i may add another joint to have those hide farther down his back.
    IMG_4258.JPG
i added a kreo arm to the back part of his calf and a hinge to hide away his taillights, makes his leg a little more compact than most other versions of him, also has that black stripe that his calves typically have

    IMG_4259.JPG IMG_4260.JPG IMG_4261.JPG
and besides not lining up 100% here it is in car mode.
    IMG_4262.JPG
i intend to mimic the ST studio idea for his feet, and i mimicked the arm cannon swivel as well.
i am also going to add the yellow to the back of this upper thighs by taking the second half of his roof to them, and i will try to make his roof turn into his little wings on his back.
other things i have done on other smaller bumblebees was add a arm for the front wheels to be more movable and pose-able on his back, as well as his doors

something that is also possible because of his front bumper mod would be to replace the bumper with different versions to allow for multiple move bumblebees to be possible if i just give him a different chest,

anyway let me know what you thing and possible ways i could hide his windows as those are going to be the most difficult.

thanks for the time comments and critiques are always welcome.

It's photobucket trying to get you to pony up $$$ to host images.

Anyways.. looks nice so far. Though I'd suggest picking up the masterpiece

I don't quite know why the last 2 pics are rotated but here's some progress. currently the only roadblock so far besides school is the accuracy of the shoulder guard, and the size of the head which has been pointed out on other threads.

so updates so far is i have made the calves much more compressed than his original.
i have also found a way to rig up the hood of the car to fold around his shoulders much better than previously.

my only issue going forward is what to do with the windshield and the rear window.

so right not the head doesn't actually attach to the body, it is only resting there for a reference, but i will eventually put a hinge on the part of the grill that folds back into his chest in robot mode so it can swing up. and the yellow sides of his neck are actually parts of his heel from the original figure, they just looked similar to his animation model.
