What did you think of it?

I liked it, it was a pretty damn cool scene! Plus we got more Dinobot scenes. Plus the Knightship actually did something...it had a purpose.

It also gives us an idea on how Lockdown captures the Dinobots.

I felt it was rather pathetic - we have this massive spaceship with weapons and different tools to capture its prey and it chooses to use a magnet. Not even a tractor beam, just a plain magnet. I get the whole idea of referencing Unicron and the idea of using a giant magnet to suck up the Transformers does make sense to a certain extent - however it was executed very poorly.

A main example of this is that the magnet was so strong it could pull Grimlock off a building as he grabbed onto it with his teeth... yet it could barely lift a car that the main cast were driving. The fact the magnet was beaten by a single shot by Optimus also pisses me off.

The magnet scene overall ended up adding nothing to the story as no cast members died either - except potentially a bunch of Hong Kong celebs who were never seen before or since. Granted a character does not have to die to give a scene meaning - however this scene is never referenced, explained, etc... it just happens and worse than that I found it forgettable.

In terms of 'excitement' the scene was badly structured also as I never felt any danger for the cast as all the magnet was going to do was simply take them inside the Knight Ship. With Optimus as the closest to being sucked in, it removed all tension. Heck, it would have been a better scene if the Dinobots were sucked in and then destroyed the ship from the inside... but then fans would realise that is another 'copy' scene - this time of the Devastator sucking scene in ROTF.

It wasn't sucking anything in if I recall just picking stuff up and then dropping it.

I liked the scene made sense for Lockdown to once again cowardly attack his opponents from far away

I understand where you're coming from, but I enjoyed the scene (although it was quite loud in the cinema).

But I agree, I didn't feel any danger towards our characters, maybe they should have a character get badly injured or even die? (looking at you Darcy!)

I would have loved it if Grimlock destroyed the magnet, so then at least he served a purpose in stead of killing vehicons.
