In other words, HG strikes again?

I'd give HLJ a try. Although since you didn't buy it from there I'm not sure how much they'd be willing to help.

It's not necessarily Harmony Gold. Most Japanese companies who market their items for the Japanese Market (Bandai, CM's, Yamato, whoever) will not offer parts or replacement services for people outside their market area.

I mean, hell, my company makes model trains for both Japan and the US, but they wont give us shit for the Japanese trains. It gives me no end of problems when people call or e-mail in asking for parts for non-US stuff.

No, I do recall this happening to someone else too.

1A, paint job is fucking beautiful. Not since the HCM have we come that close in toy-form, to matching the onscreen brown paint-job.

Many thanks for your advice guys. I seem to be going a little crazy right now on Macross (I blame the terrible condition of the TF scene in the UK). I had previously picked up the SDCC 1/100 VF-1, and I have a replacement Luca VFR-25 now. I also have the VF-0A on its way to me (just left Japan). I have now pulled the trigger on a SV-51 (red version).

It does seem strange that the red version (sorry, I am not familiar with the names) is currently on at HLJ for $106, while the cheapest that I have seen a black version in stock is $250! There are a couple of tan versions on eBay right now for around $200. That makes it more than twice the price to get it in black, with the known QC issues. I prefer the black.... but not that much, and I dont want to spend that price on the black version, since the VF-27 seems more detailed and my preferred.

I still prefer the VF-27, but I will pick one of those up in the new year, as I wanted to get a SR-51 while they were still around as it seems that the stocks are running down slowly.

I've ordered from them many times and I never had a problem. Their payment system is a little different than other Japanese toy sites where you pay for the item and shipping separately so read their policies beforehand. Ae's service is great.

I just got my total and its gonna be about $165.00 shipped to sunny California. I gotta say I'm glad I waited for sale. ^^

The purchase process is a bit strange. It seems like you add the items to your cart. They stay active for 48 hours before they are removed if you dont pay for them. If you pay for them, they are 'yours' but not sent. When you actually want them, I think that you group them and pay for shipping, and then they are sent out.

Yeah their ordering process is a little odd, but once you get used to it it's alright. I usually buy from their ebay page since they allow you to give them offers for their items, but in this case its better to order off their site with the shipping discount and all.

is that like Parcel Post? If so it can take several weeks, I've ordered Saint Seiya Myth Cloth from HK before, and some took a good while before it showed up, like 3-4 weeks.

Sorry forgot to mention that it's Hong Kong Post Air serivce.

If it's 3-4 weeks then not worth it.

Usually airmail from HK takes a week and a half to get to me. but right now around the holiday season it could take forever. I remember last year my Anniv 1S and my Quarter took over 2 weeks to get here on EMS

Do you know if it's trackable?

If not I'll probably pay the extra and go with Fed Ex.
