Dammit Tom, I thought you said the SDF-1 was 50% off. I almost had a heart attack!

Yeah I know the feeling. The only reason I think it won't is because the SDF-1 is about twice the price of the Quarter. I can't imagine Yamato going too crazy and making a ton of them

Tom-1 Ron-0 :lol  Personally, if AmiAmi decides to do a free or 1/2 off shipping like they did last year, I'd get a SDF-1 for sure

Interesting. HLJ also has 50% off Fedex shipping.

The VF-11C will be cheaper than AmiAmi. I don't think I'll be able to say no.

Speaking of AmiAmi they finally got back to me about the missing part for my VF-22S.

Contact Yamato USA, they might be able to help you find the parts from Japan

That's surprising considering that HLJ bent over backwards to find me a 22S head.

That's how I got the shoulders on my Garland fixed, and found out today that Liokaiser also got parts from Yamato Japan through the USA office for his Bubblegum Crisis figure

So...who's your favourite valks when it comes to transforming them? Just today I re-arranged my shelves and transformed my Bandai VF-25 and Yamato's SV-51, VF-0S and YF-21.

The verdict? [---So far the only toys I have never owned are the Monster (both Bandai and Yamato) and the VF-11]

The easiest and funnest to transform is definitely Bandai's VF-25. Without any armours attached, the base model is very easy to cycle through modes and is also the sturdiest. Everything clicks and locks into place solidly. Not far behind is the VF-27, but the extra fins and whatnot knock it down a bit. These two can also grip their weapons firmly and can get into many poses with no real danger of falling down thanks to nicely designed\wide feet and centre of balance.

Coming up is the SV-51. No parts get in the way of each other when going back to fighter mode and it all locks together very well. The grasp on the weapon is loose and generally all the joints on mine [CF version] are loose.

Third place goes to both the VF-0S and VF-1 [1/60 V2.0]. The arms are tricky to get back to place on my VF-0 when going to fighter and then there's the ever present danger of snapping the head lasers by prying the head through the back opening. The VF-1 is slightly trickier if you've got a version before the improved crotch lock. When in fighter mode, they lock pretty well but the VF-0S has a tendency to unclip where the legs meet the back fins.

Last place goes to my YF-21. Getting the arms to snap on the backpack when going back to fighter is fidgety at best, borderline frustrating at worst. Getting the leg panels all aligned is also a b*tch, and even then there's some part\panel that hasn't locked in place. The entire back of the plane also snaps off the die-cast metal swing piece frequently due to clearance issues with the arms.

I wonder what's your round-up in their transformation difficulty order?

SDi VF-25F messiah. A fun and easy transformation. My full sized valks tend to just gather dust.

    • 1/55 VF-1
    • 1/48 VF-1
    • 1/60 VF-11
I have much love for the 1/55. Can't go wrong with that one. 1/48 is more user friendly(with regards to transformation than the V2 1/60 VF-1, not that transformation on the latter is hard, it's just more pleasant on the 1st one). VF-11 is a joy all around.

Yeah I was shocked to see they still had replacement shoulders. I got mine last month from Yamato USA.

Pretty cool that Yamato USA will help out with Yamato Japan parts.

I just read this in the Robotech thread at the MW forums. It does seem like a reasonable explaination why we never saw the rest of Shadow Chronicles, this is probably what happened in the story :)

Frak me. I totally forgot I had the VF-X on preordered a few months ago.

With the SDF-1 coming at the end of the month I don't think I'll be partaking in the HLJ sale.
