    I hear you. But, I still consider myself fortunate that I can at least buy stuff online. Being an older collector I can remember back in the late 80's early 90's when there was only one obscure mail order catalog from this store out of Dallas, TX where I could buy a few model kits. And, I only knew about it from an ad in a scale model magazine. I would imagine people in CA could probably find a shop or two. Most people had to settle for whatever Robotech merch was available to us. I remember I went nuts when Playmates rebranded some Macross toys under an Exo-Squad/Robotech banner.

    I never actually saw the official Macross TV show until Animego did they're subtitled version in the 2000's. I think in 2001 if I recall correctly.

    i'm VERY grateful indeed to have a B&M Shop within arm's reach that actually stocks MACROSS product.

    That Said... it remains personally-mind-blowing to see the little, action-figure-sized BANDAI HM-Rs priced
    at what a full-blown DX CHOGOKIN was but a scant handful of years ago, is all...

    Don't know if you've been paying attention, but have you looked at the price of groceries lately?

    Edit: I mean I understand the frustration, but everything has gone up price compared to a few years ago.

    I get it. However, the "best" online prices are sometimes at the cost of the mom & pop shops continuing. It's something I always consider before buying.

    It's hard to accept, but yeah. Even if you pare it down to the bottom of the barrel comparisons that one will never see a 99¢ Big Mac or a "$5 footlong" again, at least the dollar is not the yen.

    This thing looks like it won't hold up at all.

    Me and my Dad have been all too happy to help support that wonderful Shop shown above;
    basically picking up a couple~three Model Kits/etc. per month from them since about mid/late 2023.

    just at the beginning of this month; Dad grabbed himself a pair of Godhand SPN-120 precision Nippers... while i picked this great Hasegawa kit;

    And these two, within the first couple/three months of 2024, all from ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND;

    All I had was Hungates along with a LCS that sporadically carried Macross stuff with a markup that would make your eyes bleed in the mid-90’s aside from seeing Playmates’ repaints of Matchbox Robotech toys in the Exosquad line. The easiest Macross thing to get stateside before that was G1 Jetfire and that was a can of worms that led a lot of us to Macross aside from Robotech airing.

    I remember ads for Joons KOs in comics or mags and also being very excited to find a small mix of ARII and Bandai Macross kits at Hungates. Some of it I wouldn’t even consider now but back in the 90’s it was a lot different.

    Sucks knowing that product would’ve been much more prevalent worldwide had HG and BW worked things out a few decades ago rather than restrict each other.

    The Energon is flowing through this one.

    So happy to finally have him. :)

    What people said is mostly true. His engineering is limiting, his joints are somewhat floppy, and unless he’s properly pegged together he just flops. But I’m still happy with him. I’m still willing to go all in with the KC Valkyries. Hell, I have four more in the mail.

    He makes a good Jetfire, alright! But now I wonder what collection I keep him with, TF or Macross? He’s my only Macross figure at the moment, so he’s having to represent the entire franchise on his own!

    Technically…maybe TF? He could go either way, I suppose.

    I’m really curious to see how that Fugu thing turns out. Do you have one of those on preorder, by chance?

    Now that you know what you’re getting into and are happy with it, all good! But it sounds like you already got bit by the Macross bug if you’re getting a flock of these. Wait until you get a better version of the VF-1 and it all goes up (or down) from there, depending on your perspective of fun or money.

    Yep. Deluxe edition. My original idea was to use that for TF and KC for Macross.
    Yep the bug has bit me hard. I’ve watched SDF, Plus, and Zero and I absolute loved them. I can’t stop listening to the soundtrack from Plus and Macross is basically all I can hyperfixate on right now. :lol

    I bought these from KC’s website a few days ago because I just couldn’t contain my excite anymore. Plus, mg God of Flame was supposed to be here a week ago.

    I’ll look into the Bandai and Arcadia versions at some point. I very much want a VF-0 and VF-19(Isamu ver) like it’s nobodies business. But one thing at time.

    Maybe after the IRS isn’t demaing a months worth of wages.
