Bandai Hobby blog article previewing the HG shortcut change YF-21 kit and Action Base 7 which will be released on the same day. The YF-21 kit was designed to be easy to build/transform/pose:
    【HGマクロスシリーズ第4弾】満を持して登場‼ 『MACROSS PLUS』もう一機の主役機「YF-21」をご紹介! - ホビー事業部の開発ブログ

I think it’s cool that Bandai is producing more Macross stuff all around now, they never bothered making Macross Plus kits in the 90’s. And I think they’re onto something with the shortcut change kits compared to their Macross Frontier/Delta and older Macross 7 kits.

Man...I feel like the plague of buying 3P transformers at such a premium price (or even official Masterpiece TFs) only to have to "fix it"....has now plagued Macross products :(  Whyyyyyyyyyy

Macross toys have required fixes all the way back to the Yamato VF-11 in 2000, unfortunately. Interestingly that was the very first toy I ever saw someone repair on the internet.

Okay, so Macross figures have issues, what about Robotech figures? Toynami has problems, but what about Kitzconcept or this Threezero Veritech I've seen on pre-order?

Ironically, the only Macross toy I've ever had to fix was a ratchet in the shoulder of the OG 1/55 and that was just once, it was easy and that is pretty much one of the most durable transforming toys ever made. One other fix was a head laser on a Yamato 1/48 but that was completely my fault and not too bad considering it fell from about 6' high on to solid floor.

The DX VF-25 Alto Revival is the only Macross toy I own that has extreme joints looseness.

It is doubly funny and doubly frustrating since this Alto-Revival is one of my newer valks.

Bandai's third iteration of the DX VF-25 is quite a Fail and quite an expensive trap to those thinking this third iteration would be better. Especially those who purposely skipped the original and the Renewal altogether like me.

My only hope now is that my DX Alto-25 Revival does not yellow (or yellow quickly) while kept insde the box in my attic storage, like reports I've read of owners of tragically yellowed Renewals...

*razzafrazza* seriously HLJ, what's the point preordering both the HG YF-21 and the waterslides for it when all I end up getting billed for is the decals? What use are those to me without the kit???  and this is the SECOND time they pulled this crap on me...

Schizophonic9’s out of box build(with no stickers applied) for the HG Shortcut change YF-21:
    HG YF-21 レビュー

Looks like a good alternative to the Revoltech and GNU Do YF-21s..this one transforms and its poseability is up there(along with using firmer plastic than the Revoltech) while it’s cost isn’t too much higher.

Definitely shows the designs age when handled, designed over 10 years ago at this point.

I want to see Bandai make a DX 1/48 VF-25.

Well, assuming that this is not a rhetorical question: the IT systems managing the stock and stock distribution probably don’t "know" that these items are related and you bought those together with the intention to ship them together.

I bought the newest Alto -25 because my original snapped in half at the waist, purely due to those "hollow spring pins" Bandai used. It spent most of its time in fighter mode, naked. Should have had zero stress on the joint. It was SLIGHTLY yellow, but not worth replacing for that. The old one had much better fit/finish overall, especially hip-armor in fighter mode.

I figure the new one will also self-destruct in a dozen years, due to using those same hollow spring pins. (they SLOWLY expand over time after being inserted---and they are stronger than the plastic...)

    So now the question is…

Is the MWW DX 21 up to its expectations upon release or be a total floppy mess like the Blue Variant of the 25 with floppy joints that some has reported (maybe it depends on who is working on the assembly line?).

Thanks, I got one from amazon. I'm not 100% sure i want it yet so I'm not paying in advance even if the price is cheaper.
