I *really* hope we don't have more issues with those black triangles on any of the 171s.

Bandai mentioned that they switched to a matte finish for the VF-171 and armor and that they added new markings to the armor compared to the original release.

Crossing fingers the plastic is sturdy. Hoping(but not expecting) the pelvis locking mechanism actually works on this revival version. Also hoping the upper leg armor stays on a lot better.

Hope that we get a CF version after this, but I'm not holding my breath. Seems like lately, Bandai gives less of a shit than ever before about non main character VFs

It does reserve a rerelease that won’t literally become cannon fodder

We need a CF 171 if they actually improve anything. In a perfect scenario we'd finally get the CF recon (or whatever the official term is) with the dish and everything. That's the version of the 171 I've always wanted.

Damn, I was hoping to see something like this for years after Yeti stopped. I finally broke down and ordered Archi stands instead but if I hadn't, I would be all over this. I still want to but just can't do it anymore.

Neat, hadn't heard of that one. Looks like a shmup in the classic style.

I do think it's funny that the splash image on the website for "shooting insight" doesn't have any fighter pilots in it, though.

    Top-Down-View Shooter.

    (think CAPCOM's "1941" TAITO's "LAYER SECTION/GALACTIC ATTACK" or MICRONET's "RAIDEN TRAD")

Hey I was in Nashville TN on Tuesday and saw two of the Tiny Sessions figures. I passed but was wondering if anyone of you all have picked any of them up? I was a bit concerned about the quality, but was hoping I was wrong.

I have the first three of the Delta squad and wish I didn't cancel my remaining two pre-orders out of haste. They're fun little fiddling SD figures, but they don't transform without parts swapping for their heads. Other than that they're pretty solid and I enjoy them on display with the chibi Walkure figures.

Pretty much what betsuni said. I love the three I have (#4 is on the way) and will eventually get more. Not a big fan of partsforming but for something like this it doesn’t bother me. It helps that the figures are so robust and so fun and quick to transform. They’re all available on Amazon, by the way, and usually for decent prices.

Oh wow, that's actually right up my alley. Hope it's somewhat like strikers 1945+ or do donpachi. Think those 2 might be my 2 favourite top down shooters.

I fucking loved Mushihime as well, and es galuda. Man I miss my ps2 and all those burned japanese dvd's with swap magic :D

Printed reviews are popping up too.

    KurakuraPlamo's parts preview:
    HG 1/100 YF-29 デュランダルバルキリー(早乙女アルト機)ランナー紹介 サンプル

Schizophonic9's two part review starting with Battroid mode:
    HG YF-29 デュランダルバルキリー(早乙女アルト機) レビューその1
    Gerwalk and fighter mode:
    HG YF-29 デュランダルバルキリー(早乙女アルト機) レビューその2

It's an engineering marvel for its size and shortcut model making, colors are vibrant, and the proportions fix a lot of what I didn't like about its design.
    However....
My gut and enthusiasm sank when I saw the sticker sheet. A lot of SMS markings obviously, but it's the metric ton of white stickers for the wings (stripes and undersides) and a lot of multicolored stickers for areas that don't have molded edges to mask off easily and paint.

It's a tough sell for me.

If Bandai makes a slightly larger SD line for VFs but no need for parts removal…. like a DX Joke Machine line, I’d be all over it.

That rotating canopy/heat shield gimmick Bandai integrated into it is awesome.

That’s understandable, I like the way it looks but would probably want to paint it(I prefer to do that rather than just building it as is out of box) and figure masking would be a challenge.

This does leave me appreciating how the DXs have all the markings painted/printed on given how busy the deco is for Macross F and Delta VFs.

It poses better in battroid than the DX. Surprisingly the gerwalk/fighter mode looks more toyetic since the hinges and intake attachment points are more noticeable, possibly exacerbated by the smaller scale. Not a dealbreaker to me, just can’t help but notice.

Shortcut change seems a lot better to me than Bandai’s transforming 1/100 Fire and Blazer Valkyrie kits from the mid-90’s. It doesn’t seem like it has the fragility issues of those kits(easily cracking elbow joints and tiny LERX tabs) yet is much cleaner in all modes, especially fighter mode.
