    … Ahem. FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK THAT KIT.

    Yes. It was that one. I am currently huddled in the fetal position, weeping softly.

    Don’t feel too bad, it was slim pickings back then stateside. I got a couple kits from Hungates back then and even those tiny ARII non-transformable kits were exciting to me back then, just because they were the only Macross items I could find(whereas now I wouldn’t even buy them; I prefer the toys).

    Ironic how those models at the time were the most realistic(for transforming VF-1s) but now look toyetic compared to modern VF-1 toys. Thanks to garage kit makers and Yamato for paving the way! The obvious raised stabilizer hinges and raised area behind the canopy weren’t present on the Yamato V1 1/60 VF-1. As quickly as that became overshadowed by the 1/48, it broke ground for a VF-1 toy over 20 years ago.

    30 years ago.. .. I really want that 1/55 Super Valkyrie but its too expensive:( .
    Sees the model kits and they do not transform all that well. ..... hmm ok I can just get the non-transformation ones much cheaper,, 1 for each mode :) .

    maybe that's where my 1 for each mode started. :rolleyes:

    Amen to that. pairing things down to basics, personal standards for MACROSS and the VF-1 over the last 25 years has essentially been;

    oh man, back in the day I remember seeing tons of those imported model kits in Chinatown/Japantown shops...they were in all sorts of shops, some definitely leaning towards hobbys/toys, others more like general stores...

    For those that got the DX GBP or the combo set from Luna, make sure that it’s actually shipping from the docks and not falsely labeled as “Shipped” = That means there is no proof that it has left it’s place of origin.

    No tracking or physical update in its location means BS.

    I fell off the wagon last night and ordered a Bandai DX Roy vf-1s and a vf-1d. Now I’m thinking about the tv super parts set. Anyone know how tall the plane is on the stand with the fast packs on? I keep them on the top shelf of my bookcase and have a low ceiling. I’m not sure there is enough clearance for the packs. I’d hate to drop $200 on them and not have them fit.

    In Battroid? I have no idea how tall they are on the stand (I've never used one), but the figure with the Fast Packs (not the Strike Packs) is 12 1/4"

    Think he's asking about Fighter Mode since he says plane. I haven't put mine on in that mode and would have to dig out the stand adapter. Maybe someone who has it handy can help out before tomorrow.

    Given that Bandai retooled the DX YF-29 last year, I don’t think they’re going to pass up reusing it for this blue YF-29, especially since
    allegedly this is Max’s new Valkyrie

    Meanwhile I think Roy’s VF-1S looks good with the armored parts and dual strike cannon modules(I don’t have either sets of armor so I’m not sure if the armor or cannons were modified to fit), picture by Stone Cheung:

    Review done by Wotafa (hit CC for loose translation)

    Now that YF-29 I'll be interested in (if it's him, then the better)..

    Screenshots from the new Delta Movie. At least the armor is color matched this time.
