Ah, anime. It always somehow manages to find a way to be compromising at the best of times, doesn't it?
Does Amazon jp start charging tax? I remember I used to get a cheaper price at checkout for the items shipped by Amazon. Also in Amazon jp, for preorder price guarantee, does it include a lower price before the time you place the pre-order? Thanks.
Yes, they charge tax based on your local tax rate and it is calculated when they ship. I seriously doubt they would give you low price guarantee for a time before you ordered.
Lol wtf is that garbage, frontier? Also I'm generally not a fan of gundam anime or manga. But I thought gundam origins is fucking great, anime movies and manga. kidou senshi z gundam define, this one is also really good. They're basically reimaginings of og gundam but actually good, meaning it doesn't suck like the originals. Would be great if they remade sdf macross this way but without the bitch ass singing and idol crap. Or a before or after plus, isame was dope. Literally the only good macross main character along with hikaru and roy. All the others were either straight garbage (2, frontier, delta, 7) or just good (0). For those who haven't seen gundam origins movies, check them out they're great. Think they might have made a series to, but series in general are garbage filled with filler and fluff so they can produce 24 eps of hot garbage. For those that like anime, those of you that thought attack on titan was good but anime taking to long with 2 much bs. They've redone the series as movies without any of the time consuming garbage. They've done it for the 1st and 2nd season. Waiting for season 3 to end so I can watch it in movie form. Worth it if you don't have time for shitty animated cartoon style anime that takes forever.
So, all of Macross revolves around 3 things: music, war, and love triangles. While I disagree with... a LOT of what you said, SDF could definitely use a remake as neither the series and the movie didn't really age too well as both Hikaru and Roy are kinda... shitty misogynists. Compilation movies are great time savers, sure, but they can also botch the plot, butcher character arcs, or in the case of the Zeta Gundam movies, COMPLETELY negate sequel stories that take place AFTER the series they're condensing (if the events of the 3rd Zeta Gundam movie were canon, ZZ Gundam never would have happened and Char's Counter Attack would have been totally different if it happened at all). Anyway, that's enough talk of anime in a toy thread.
Compilation movies are great as they take away the ugly art and shitty animations, also in a movie goku would not need 20 episodes to collect enough energy for a spirit bomb, it could be done in a minute or two and actually look good. Just 1 simple example. 1 final example of anime. Let's take naruto for example. If you cut out all the bs and leave some anime only scenes that actually were good, cut the time to a 3rd or 4th, meaning 150 episodes instead of say 600 or whatever, it would actually be good instead ok to good'ish. It would actually make it an artform instead of a business of budget and timing. Ofcourse this is business, that's why it's not even close to being art. But a compilation movie or fan edit can actually make it art.
Music is like the main theme of Macross. Culture.. And never talk about Sheryl that way! I love her character how she is a bitch and can throw shade back at Alto whenever he is a dick, but also has a soft side. "Hey, are you the kind of kid who reads the last page of a mystery first? Who pesters the magician to tell you his tricks? Who sneaks downstairs to peek at his Christmas presents? Noooo, of course you're not." I take it your a movie over book person. I like the drawn out stories and series better. It gives you the full gist of the story. 99% of the compilation movies always rip out parts of information that makes you say. "Ok, I'm missing something here. or WTF did I miss?"
Some are. As for the filler, that's normally done when an anime is being produced along side the manga and the anime catches up to the manga. In the case of Dragonball, Dragonball Z Kai removes all that filler. Filler episodes aren't all that big of a deal with most anime these days with a few exceptions, but gone are the days of completely new filler ARCS that take up dozens of episodes. Another thing is that older anime, especially shonen anime, were produced with a weekly episodic viewing in mind, not to have multiple episodes binged in a single sitting. I'll hold off on talking about Naruto since, well, I hate that series with a fiery passion. I think the last anime I saw with any kind of filler episode was My Hero Academia, but that was more of a celebration special event than anything else. As for what you say about compilation movies... not all the time. The studios will re-use as much footage as they can to save on production costs. Sure, they'll do clean up to make it look nicer, but that's nothing new. Just look at Dragon Ball Super's earlier episodes and compare them to how they looked aired to their DVD release (granted that was due to an INSANELY short turn around deadline, but still...). As for anime not being art, watch Demon Slayer and tell me that show isn't art. Now, I think we've derailed this thread enough and further discussion should have it's own thread created in the Movies and Television section. To bring this back around: a friend snagged me some super armor for the VF-25 Renewal version I have. Anything I should look out for? I know the shoulder armor things are problematic thanks to the ScorchedEarth videos... I just don't wanna run into the same issue I'm having with my VF-19Advanced armor
Yes thank you. Discussion about other unrelated anime can be posted here: Movies and Television As far as the DX VF-25F Renewal Super Armor, the intake armor doesn’t stay on securely. It won’t take much to pop off during posing. Same goes for the DX VF-25S Renewal super armor. The armor for the intake wasn’t retooled to attach securely until it was made for the DX VF-25G/RVF-25 Renewals.
okay, that isn't too bad. Nothing a little blue tack can't fix XD At least I know a bulk of it secures on nicely... unlike the right booster on said VF-19... no matter what I do, it won't lock in and sorta slides it's way down the wing.
MACROSS is a relic of a very different, and,in many ways, superior age. and, personally, that is exactly how i prefer it to remain...
Would love to. It's hard not to be at least a little fascinated when one of these "get woke go broke" people roll the hell on into a thread like this though.
That's the kind of bullshit that made me stay away from MW. But I guess certain people with a certain way of thinking only commit to such rhetoric because they really don't have an argument to make. Whatever. I'm here for the toys.
