Speaking of tampos, I do feel Bandai overtampoed it, especially the super/strike packs. I do prefer the ss packs to be a bit cleaner. Oh well, 1st world problems.

Ah right. Forgot the hero variants tend to get at least one more run. But not so soon after the first run.

I think they were trying to go for a more "realistic" look for the Valks when they did that. To be honest, when I used to put together plastic models, they always came with decals that are similar to what Bandai tampo'd onto the Valks. Those who were really into the realism for the models would put em on. Though I honestly never did :lol  But after having seen real fighter jets...yeah, I can understand the novelty of Bandai doing this :)  I appreciate it, but wouldn't care if it didn't come with em either way since I never really saw most of these tampos on the Valks in the cartoons. Either that or I wasn't really paying enough attention :lol

I didn’t see anything that mentioned Bandai was going to reissue Hikaru’s 1S with a fix. Only thing I saw was Bandai state the tampo was not a mistake and they did it that way on purpose. As for if it will be reissued or not, I have no doubt someday in the future it will happen but not just because of the tampo and it could even come with the same tampo based on their current stance.

I don’t care about the tampo either way. I just hope I can get one at regular price and would rather hope for nice tolerances on the joints and latches and wings that line up.

I forget, but wasn't there a fix for the wings?

Not a “real” fix but someone (sorry, forgot username) adjusted the flaps a bit and that helped them line up the wings when folded. Basically, they used the flaps to push the wings towards better alignment.

That was @NeoMatter that did it with the DX 1J. Its buried somewhere upon hundreds of pages back. He might have also posted on both the DX VF-1 thread and Macross Maintenance on MW.

All that outrage over a tiny tampo most don’t even notice seriously?

Well.... Tell it to those that made a fuss over Alto's 29 (which made a V.2/newer shoulder clip replacement) and they didn't even bother on the YF-30 Chronos.

Note: They only cared on the main character and their valks and not the CF versions (they get diddy squat).

Yeah, no real fix and I never found what actually causes it with my Vf-1J. Here's my post about aligning the wings in MW.

    Macross maintenance.

Yeah I think that was posted here too. But that didn't work for me. Oh well.

LOL yeah I posted it here too. But can't dig for it atm. :p

Interesting, judging from your pic of the wings, they seem to have a wider gap between them. If you offset the flaps and the gap is still that wide apart, I can see why the flap work around wouldn't work in this situation. I only have the VF-1J and haven't pursued any more of the DX 1/48 VFs after failing twice on PO night. Also I would have wanted a more pure white version instead of the grayish tone they used. LOL

They seem to be the same across all 3 that I have to be honest. Eh well, no biggie. It's not like I pose the thing with his rear end for all to view :lol

I placed one but they since took down the availability to ship to US and they also upped the price from what I thought I had locked in so I cancelled my order. Too sketchy when I could pay the same or less from a trusted Japanese vendor.

I’m glad you were able to cancel your order once you notices something sketchy.:)

Come to think of it, I think a DX Messer VF-1S would look sharp.

I can see that but I don't think the HMR version sold really well, right? If that's the case, I wonder if Bandai is even considering it.

It wasn't an instant sell out but as far as selling well, I don't know. I wasn't big on the paint scheme it 1st but it grew on me and I think it would look good on the DX.
