    Geez I thought I went through every tamiya, humbrol and revell paint library and didn't see that one. That said, isn't it too yellow? I thought I'd want a off-white grey. Cooler. Now that I'm googling I see a LP-35 that seems more grey, but it's not a spray. hm. So you all go this route, ey?

    So if I spray paint, when I'm doing a panel pass, will I be able to use an erasor to rub away the black excess ? I guess that's another reason it was so easy without the paint coat. Sounds like I'm making up excuses now to not paint, huh.

    With spray paint you might not be able to rub away excess with an eraser as that'll probably just make a mess. You're better off using a brush on paint wash or water based Gundam Marker weathering pen(or water based weathering paint from GSI Creos). That's the easiest route if you just want 1 base coat from spray paint.

    Normally if you're doing a panel pass with spray paint, you would spray gradual layers of the base coat and lighter colors over it later on instead of rubbing off the excess to enhance the sense of depth/weathering for the panel lines.

    @anubis20 @Jarrod any ideas?

    At this late in the game, does anybody have any suggestion where to obtain the "DX Chogokin Missile Set for VF-1" at the best reasonable price? :(

    Thanks for your help!

    Quick question regarding AmiAmi, as I'm new to that store. I noticed that after you add something to the cart and go to checkout, the site requires you to log in again. Is that normal? Just wondering how screwed I'm going to be for the Macross preorders in the coming years.

    No problem, if you can make it to order confirmation with a number, you should be good but wouldn't hurt to double check your inbox for the order confirmation email as well.

    Nah, I've had an account with AmiAmi for some years, but never actually used them for anything. I was planning on buying some not-impossible-to-order stuff today, and noticed the re-log-in requirement. I think CD Japan does the same thing?

    Mainly, I'm just thinking ahead to the the possible later DX releases, the ones I really want (Roy 1S, Cannon Fodder, Max 1J). For the past releases, I've had luck with HLJ and Amazon Japan and have limited my orders to those places, but I'm going to try to keep other options open, as these valks, if released, would pretty much complete my toy collection.

    Good call. It's best to prioritize based on stuff like this and the order in which they release during PO night. For example, I had product in the cart and moving forward to payment on CDJapan but having to login again on that last step killed my speed and was cartjacked.

    Thanks bud!

    My proxy advised that they haven't bought the item and will only be able to buy me during business hours - so I was like, sold out thus cancelling with them and went to buy at AE :)

    If you spray paint it, let fully dry/cure you then put a gloss clear coat on top. Let that fully dry/cure and then do a panel wash, whatever your preference is, then put a dull coat on to seal it. I recommend flory's wash. It clay based and comes in all sorts of shades of grey to black. You can wipe off the excess with a damp paper towel. I've used it on models and toys. They Tamiya sprays are lacquered based so you can use enamel or acrylic or whatever with out having to worry about it eating the base coat.

    Got the custom stickers back. Overall, she did a great job, but they are on a white background instead of clear. So, I need to decide if I want to apply them that way. Decisions, decisions...

    Yes, but I guess the problem is she can’t do any of the white details on a clear background. Not sure specifics of why that is so. Originally, she was going to do what she could on clear and just do the ones with white detail on white background.

    I don’t but I’m sure I could convert because I have them scanned at 600 dpi in a PDF format with vectors enabled.
