I think I got mine around that price also maybe less. I dont remember it was back in August. I got it though amazon. I just looked it up on there and the price went up on it.
I'm partial to that TV Roy. Best $60+ I've spent on a specific Macross toy. It was cool seeing Yamato attempt to make nearly the entire onscreen roster of VF-1's from the TV series and come very close to it. Now we just need:
Anyone heard of Meptoys? Looks like they’re making a 1/100 Britai to go with the HMR toys. Robotech Zentraedi Commander Breetai 1/100 Scale Figure
It doesn't look great especially after seeing the SHF version that may never come out but even after dismissing it, I impulse ordered one from MEP yesterday. According to the website, it's basically a fan product but I guess he got the license to make it official. Will see how it turns out.
Well I went to check out but didn't see a free shipping option anywhere. Guess it doesn't apply for US shipping. EDIT: Oh I didn't realize it starts at 9:00am JST which is now... trying again... EDIT #2: Got through the order process and got a payment confirmation email but not an order confirmation email. As soon as checkout finished I got booted back to the "waiting area" so I can't even check order status. Oh well tomorrow I guess...
Yeah, I'm not too impressed with the face sculpt. Oh well. I shall remain amongst those who will patiently wait for other figures to come out.
Good job! I’m usually always preaching that people should only buy what they think is good and not settle just because there is currently only one choice. But... Pretty much this. I don’t think $30+ is chump change for a 6” figure when it looks as basic as this one but yeah, WTH, I figure I’m also supporting a fellow fan and small business that could do better things in the future.
Yeah I'm trying to order something from NY too. This feels worse than when I tried to order the DX VF-1J. Like holy crap!
Surprised all these years later, a 3p company hasn't made a swappable adapter piece to enable full articulation(outwards pivot, thigh swivel) for the 1/55 mold. Win/win since it could be used for G1 Jetfire upgrades also. More than 15 years on MacrossWorld there was 1 guy in particular who was making ball joints I believe, for 1/55's. I don't recall him making very many though.
if you can find/afford one, then by all means do so. this new BANDAI DX 1/48 series will probably wind up being the VF-1 toy line of your dreams. for my own part, i've never seen any other VF-1 replica anywhere, in 25 years of MACROSS fandom, that get's it all so dead-on in all three modes, and i've seen pretty much everything;
For your first Valk, if it must be DX Chogokin, there is no better choice than the VF-1J that is posted above. Besides that, if you like the newer designs, any VF-31. If you aren’t stuck on getting DX Chogokin, I’d highly recommend any VF-1 like the other one pictured above or any of the Yamato V2 or Arcadia VF-1s. Also, the Arcadia VF-0S or the upcoming Premium Finish VF-0D.
thanks for the feed backs guys! I would like to stay with the DX Chogokin line only. Anyone know when the VF-1J Valkyrie going to be reissue?
