That's reassuring...not fond of bandai ball joints on their Macross toys

There we go, I love the chunky battroid modes of the VF/YF-19's. I used to want the Advanced because at the time the Arcadia was out of stock, but this reissue coupled with the usual Bandai "lose sleep/get preorder" game leans me towards the Arcadia.

Time to bring some balance to the YF-19 Force.

    Positives:

The Arcadia 19 has good proportions and is easy to transform. Shit ton of missiles (although a bit pointless)

The Bandai 19 has amazing tampo printing, better articulation and introduces some new transformation bits to the 19 design.

    Negatives:

Arcadia 19 - Questionable QC. Ankles are loose in some positions and tight in others. Limited tampo printing

Bandai 19 - Finicky transformation, skinny proportions and Bandai preorder BS.

I like Bandai's more overall, but that's because 4 out of 4 Arcadia valkyries have overall failed my expectations for quality with minor to major issues. Maybe the reissue 19 will clear up some issues......but I'm never taking a gamble with Arcadia again. They are done and washed up for me.

Admittedly I want both the Advanced and the YF-19, but with Arcadia reissuing the latter, it'll be far easier to get it than the Bandai.

Its odd, but I agree with everything here.... and these are the reasons that I prefer the Bandai (although the only Yamato/Arcadia 19s I have are the two 1.5 special editions).

Bandais feels less 'toyetic' to me, and I like that, but they are both pretty good to my mind.

Beware of the terrible ankle joints that will solely ruin the whole $250 toy. :D

Are they worse than the Yamato VF-19's?

My VF-19S has no problems, but the Arcadia 19 ankles wobbles everywhere.

Call me crazy but I wouldn't mind if Bandai made retro Takatoku style DX VF-25's and VF-19's with huge ass exposed diecast steel hard cold shiny metal swing bars and bare metal shiny finish spring loaded landing gears that can bruise your thumbs and fingers once activated.

I'll take it over ball joints they loosen for no reason. And why is it that all Macross toy makers seem to forget the goodness of loud clicking ratchet joints?
