No. While the guys are "anime pretty boys" they are a military squadron, not singers. Their uniforms alone should indicate that.
Yeah...I thought it was pretty obviously a joke. I don't agree that the jets are a better point of reference for scale of the 1/35 VF-1 since most MP toys are 1/35ish and the jets aren't. And speaking of the 1/35 VF-1, Jarrod at MW had this to say: Going by that info I'd say were about a year or so away from this being out, if it ever does get released.
I brightened it a bit: The guy at MW said it had no joints or anything, but I'm pretty sure I see joints there.
its not that, the first attachment is not loading for me. Looks great! Looks like it will be in the DX SOC family like Mazinger and Great Mazinger.
Oh, I brightened it for everyone, I actually hadn't seen your post. Not sure why the first image doesn't work for you, it's just uploaded directly to TFW like everything I post. Hmm. I just re-uploaded it...does it work for you now?
That is glorious. I'm starting to feel like an idiot for preordering both HMR VF-1S now that DXs look bound to happen.
I'll just add it to the pile. 1/144, 1/100, 1/60, 1/55, 1/48 & 1/35. When I'm an old man I'll turn them into matryoshka dolls.
Ah, I see. I couldn't make out what they were. Yeah, I'm not stopping my VF-4G Arcadia preorder for anything. And I'd be skeptical if any company could make a better VF-4 than Yamato's. Still, this is crazy exciting news
Thats was me, and nah, it definitely didnt. There was a bit of scuplting to make it look like it, but it was definitely a fixed pose resin (possibly rapid prototype) figure. The hip joints almost looked functional, but in person you could definitely tell. In fact, the VF-31 was the same, but all the joints were sculpted in. In pics it looked like a transformable proto, but in person, they were 100% fixed pose resin protos. Same with HMR VF-4, VF-0, and the DX Fire Valk. Curiously, the Draken appeared to be a transformable proto, with functional joints and hinges, but glued in Fighter mode. The VF-2 HMR was definitely a transformable proto with joints, screws, and pins visible
Finally a VF-1 with a nice size hands that seems to be articulated and doesn't need to be swapped out.
1/35 vf-1 battroid doesn't look that great. it's definitely got a long nose so fighter mode will be great.
Yeah, it'll be nice to not have Yamato/Arcadia's skeleton hands. I'm loving everything else I see, too. Battroid looks fantastic and well proportioned. Can't wait to see it in some poses, and fighter mode!
In this pic of the Bandai 1/35 VF-1J we can see rivet detail and a better look at the hip joint mechanism.
