If u want a yamato 1/60 vf-1 to start out with I would get a used one from Mandarake or Macross world. Much better prices than the Arcadia reissues which are stupid expensive IMO

True, but because of the bandai stuff being so hard to get it's been much easier :)  darn Arcadia for making there stuff readily available at pre-order.:banghead:

Any reason you guys have a preference for HLJ or Amiami even though NY has the lowest price? Trying to figure out best place to put in a preorder while I think about it.

Amiami: ship quick, will combine orders for the same month. If you have a defect on your figure they will ofer you $2, not kidding, happened to me. NO CANCELLATIONS

NY: They can combine unpaid preorders. they overcharge on shipping. from what ive read with some people dealing with problems on the 0Ds they ordered from NY, their customer service sucks and wont do anything to help you. NO CANCELLATIONS

HLJ: you can combine items for up to 60 days. Their customer service is great, they will exchange your figure if they have any or you can return it and they will pay for return shipping. you can cancel anytime.

Even with the higher cost HLJ has won me over because they dont simply blow me off with "you are on the other side of the world, sorry." when there is a problem.

Cool good info thanks. I've used HLJ, AE, and NY for my Transformers MPs and all 3 have been fine so far.

Wait, NY has no cancellations? What if I just don't pay for the preorder, isn't that effectively cancelling?

Oh shoot, I didn't know that. I'll see if I cancel right now... HLJ it is.

    Thanks for the quick replies!

HLJ is the best. I was lured away for a couple years by Amiami's better pricing but I went back after Amiami showed they don't give a shit about you if things go wrong. HLJ has been nothing but amazing. I will gladly pay more for peace of mind.

I have cancelled stuff with amiami and NY before. But I don't make a habit of it. Once in a blue moon. But I had already established a good track record of business with them before I ever had to cancel an order.

Same here. It isn't often, and I've always been polite and honest and I haven't been banned from either site. I even let a preorder lapse at AmiAmi because I totally spaced it and they didn't say or do anything.

I DID get banned from HLJ for letting a preorder lapse while I was wating to see if anyone here wanted to grab it from me. They're still my preferred vendor though since they're the best with customer service.

Anime Export is sort of a mix of the sites as well. No cancellations, but I heard people have if they ask and get lucky. I tried once and they really didn't want to let me. Their pricing can be better at times. Shipping is average, they give options. No stacking, need to pay up front but you get a day or two to "hold" something. Communication is hit or miss. I haven't had an issue with items bought from them so not sure how they are with customer service in that regard

Careful. They may still want to ban you just for canceling a preorder. They really are the dicks of the online shopping experience. I'm one of those people who were banned because they wouldn't replace my defective VF-4G, even though they had more in stock. Now THAT was a fiasco.

I still use them through a proxy to get the really hard to get stuff. But now I know the risk of buying from them so I've been able to make that conscious choice.

yup. the thing with amiami is that their shippign is more expensive than hlj. i think because hlj is so big and does so much business, they have discoutned rates wth their shippers? not sure...but ems from hlj is roughly the price of regular japan post registered from amiami, AE, and NY.

also hlj allow cancellation. i almost always go with hlj now if i can.

Yeah, in my haste I always forget I should go with HLJ as the first option.

Well quite honestly I'm not sure I care that much - if they want to be jerks and "ban" me for canceling a preorder 15 minutes after I placed it, then that's just bad customer service and I'd rather take my business somewhere else.

On topic: I preordered the VF-0A from HLJ - it would be my first Arcadia! Love the color on this one much more than the blue that recently came out.

Waiting for the eventual VF-0S, my 0A has held up well but my 0S is in dire need of a replacement.

I like HLJ and AmiAmi though if I'm iffy on something AmiAmi's no cancellation thing is a turn off. Price wise I don't really pay attention especially since its only a few bucks most of the time.

For HLJ, you can cancel things anytime, which is nice. Even if it drops, you can ask them to cancel it as soon as you get the payment email.

For Amiami, just let the payment requests come and eventually they will remove your order. I never got banned and I've let 2-3 Pre-orders go unpaid. They might hold it against you, but they never threatened me yet.
